Ristorante Bellini im Ratskeller

The town hall is just next, and you will enjoy a nice view on the Hauptmarkt (principal market) when sitting outside with the special cake offer consisting of plum cake, vanilla ice and coffee,

It was quite quiet when we visited. Wasn't sure if we were going to ever get served but food was nice when it arrived. Lovely surroundings. We sat outside with a beer in the day which was great.

I would still recommend this place for outdoor dining on the market place, making for a pleasant evening. Service was slow due to large number of tables. Food was ok, certainly not bad, but not as good as many Italian restaurants I've enjoyed in Germany.

We sat outside even though it was cloudy and cool. The Minestrone dell' Ortolano warmed us up immediately. The Salatteller Jahreszeit was very good. Even though it is obviously an Italian restaurant, they had a good selection of German dishes. Service was prompt and friendly.

We have been there in the evening, with 8-9 persons and IT was maybe half full. The waiters were Nice and friendly, But they mixed the starters with the main courses, and IT took a wile. For a Pizza IT is ok, But the german food is Not so Good. , even if IT is the ratskeller...you dont eat turkish AT a chinese fastfood Restaurant

Gotha is a hidden gem in central Germany. Right on the colorful Main Square you will find Bellini. It is in fact the Ratskellerrestaurant. It has a pleasant interior, but also a phantastic terrace iverlooking the beautiful Square. They do serve good food, both Italian and German. Portions are quite big. Their icecreams are very good, as well as their schnitzels. And they do serve the excellent Köstritzer beer.

The restaurant is in the basement of the cream coloured building in the picture which is opposite the Town Hall. It offered good food which was well-prepared and served professionally at reasonable price; wines were also reasonably priced. The restaurant is part of a group of eateries within the same building, which includes a take-away. We dined a few days before Christmas and it was quite busy but full of fun and good humour.

We went to this restaurant one evening and really enjoyed the food and the service, such that we returned a few days later. However, that time it was completely different - no attention to us and the food was took forever and was OK, nothing special. It almost seemed like a different restaurant. I do not know if there was a different cook in the kitchen. The staff was clearly not able to cope well with the more filled restaurant - though it was not completely filled. That is why I say "mixed reviews". However try it, you might get lucky.

I went to this restaurant with 3 friends, even though we were later than our reservation suggested we were greeted by a friendly waiter who led us to our table. I must say it was hard to choose at first because the menu is very varied and they also had a special menu on as it was just after christmas. I then chose from the special menu and went for the beef fillet, requested it medium rare. And I have to say I have eaten in steak houses before that overcooked the beef so I was anxious what was awaiting me here.
