"I absolutely adore The Rose Crown - it's my favorite pub in Clitheroe. I had never eaten there before today, as they didn't have any vegan options on the menu. However, they have now added vegan options, including on their festive menu. So, my husband and I decided to go for Sunday lunch. The restaurant is family-run and you always receive a warm welcome; it's a very friendly place. We had a table by the window and ordered from the festive menu - parsnip and carrot soup, sweet potato, spinach, and butterbean stew. The food was delicious, hearty, and very satisfying, as well as being great value for money. We were too full for dessert, although the vegan Christmas pudding was very tempting. They offer vegan wines on the menu, such as Running Duck Shiraz, Lunetta Prosecco, and some Concho Y Toro wines that are vegan certified. Overall, we had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning to try their other options. It's important to support establishments like The Rose Crown, who truly care for their customers. Ann and Hannah provided lovely, friendly service at the front of the house. We will definitely be returning to try other vegan options, like their vegan sausage and mash."

Brilliant food. Pity they don't do food in the evening. Lovely place. Great service and welcoming atmosphere. Are there any downsides? Not that I can think of.

Have called in unexpectedly. Received a nice welcome. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our food. My wife is also coeliac. And ordered a gluten free option. But this did have batter in the chips. We are thankful that my wife was not portly in the evening.

We had a fantastic dining experience at the Rose and Crown. We visited during the middle of the week, so it was peaceful and not too crowded. The service was top-notch, with very friendly staff. The menu had a wide variety of options at reasonable prices. Our meals were delicious and we highly recommend this restaurant.

Came on a monday, deb the barmaid was fantastic, loads of characters, good music, had such a laugh. Unfortunately two days later it couldn't of been more different. The bearded bar man was playing some horrible heavy metal music no one liked, emptied the bar out. I asked several times for some decent music, he refused. We left soon after.

Had a lovely lunch, beef and onion sandwich, beef was melt in the mouth and chips were hand cut and up there with the best chips I’ve had. Baked mushrooms and Stilton was very good quality and quite a large portion for a starter, the two cask pints we had were excellent, would go back again. Nice friendly service too, and value for money.

Had a couple of visits to Clitheroe this year and had lunch here. Really good quality pub food at a very fair price. Last trip we had a seafood platter (a sharing dish for two). It was massive and so well cooked I ate all my share and an extra portion of chips. Good beer too and very friendly staff (though the servers were a bit young, inexperienced and lacking in social skills). Highly recommended.

We visited Clitheroe for the day and we were looking for a dog friendly cafe or pub for lunch. This was perfect. Lovely warm welcome from the staff and the food was delicious. I had hot beef barm which was served with chips, salad and coleslaw . The beef was superb- thick cut, tender beef soaked in gravy, the chips were outstanding and even the barm was excellent. My partner had sausage barm with chips and salad. 3 delicious local sausages . Highly recommended

After a night in Blackpool, my wife and I stopped off in Clitheroe. My wife was experiencing back pain and needed to rest, so we booked a room for the weekend. The only room available was the family room, but we were given a discount. The room was simple but very clean, with coffee, tea, plenty of biscuits, and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was nice and had a great shower. After a few hours of rest, my wife's back got worse and she couldn't drink alcohol due to painkillers she had taken. Despite being in a pub, we decided to head home because of her condition. The pub was directly below our room, and we could hear people talking. The lady who arranged our room was very kind and concerned a...

"I wasn't at blueberries with my friends since before covid so it was great to kick through the door and see how busy it is, fortunately I had a table for lunch. there is nothing special vegan on the menu, but they try to place their very hardest, in contrast to some places. I love a jacket kartoffel and choose her beats with various items from the menu, so ordered frying and avocado. katherine, one of the owners and cook came on our table and said she could suggest some other dishes and also vegan cheese if I did not the jacket kartoffel, but if I still did how about the topping of sonbs. what a nice geste and I will visit her on her offer of other options at the next. I noticed that they were able to offer vegan options for their Christmas card and also had two vegan, frozen meals to take away, moussaka and chili. my friends ordered a chicken and specksalat and a fish and chips and both said that eating was delicious with a mention that the chips were the best. my kartoffel was huge, with a lot of topping, served with beautiful salat and quickly grinded. the food is made fresh to order and blueberries is very popular as full it was on a cold Wednesday afternoon. there is also a small marquee on the side of the blueberries, which for those who are brave and sitting the weather and of course adds extra space. I really can't knock blueberries, they may not have vegan options (although a cake would be nice and I need to ask if they have plant milk as I always have my own. but they will always try to eat rusty something satisfying and with announcing can something like a vegan hotpot that I had before, what was brilliant."
