Brilliant food great service I would recommend this restaurant to anyone staying at the County hotel which is directly opposite

I was travelling alone and I received wonderful service and the food was magnificent. For a restaurant to be nearly full on a weeknight speaks volumes for the quality. They set the standard for other similar establishments.

We eat here regularly and it is one of the best Indians I have been to. The service is second to none and the food is delicious. The staff are all welcoming and try to ensure that your visit is an enjoyable one. If you love Indian food you must try this place!

I travel to Chelmsford on business regularly and the rose of India is always my choice not only great Indian food with imagination in the dishes makes them stand out from the norm on top of that the most amazing friendly staff who always make me welcome, I live 250 miles away but they treat me like it’s my local —— TOP RESTAURANT

This is the best Indian we’ve had in a really long time. I’ve been in Chelmsford forever and I’m gutted I’m only just discovering it now!! All the dishes were really tasty, hot and the service was attentive, friendly and relaxed. It’s a family run place and you can tell they take great pride in the food and the restaurant. 100% would recommend

Oh my goodness.....this has got to be THE best Indian restaurant we have ever been to. We waited 20 minutes for a table as it was full when we first got there but it was definitely worth the wait. The food was amazing, the meat melted in your mouth and the dishes we had were so tasty! The service was 5 star. Cannot wait to visit Chelmsford again and visit this restaurant.

Visited The Rose of India again this week and was really pleased to find the standard of food served very good. It was a Monday night, so perhaps a restaurant might be forgiven for not being at it’s absolute best. This was not the case at all. The team at the Rose are really on their game at the moment, every main and side of a 4 person cover was well prepared, satisfying and presented elegantly.

This was the first time I had visited this curry house but certainly won't be my last. From the service to teh food was first class. The chicken in all the dishes was melt in the mouth and the flavours of the curry were excellent. The Naans were really tasty and very fresh. I have eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants in my time, but this is probably one of the best. Very reasonably priced, very clean and service was polite and attentive. Will be back for another visit very soon.

The restaurant itself is a bit dated but we’re all about the food, and the reviews looked positive, so gave it a try. The food was ok ish. The starters were fine. The chicken dish was very unusual in its presentation we’ve ordered the same dish countless times before in various restaurants and it bore little relation to what we expected. The chicken was also fairly tasteless. The lamb dish was actually unpleasant with very chewy, gristly, over cooked meat. The meal was not overly expensive but, sorry to say, we won’t be returning.
