Sable D'Or - Piatti

Highly recommended for those who love Morroccon food. Convenience place and easy to reach. Friendly owner. There is some briefing by owner about the menu.

We stumbled upon this great eating place in Nice, France. It is situated one street back from the Promanade des Anglais. Recommend the lamb shanks and couscous or the chicken targine. Very large serves at great value. Excellent service.

Family run restaurant. One of the owners served us and she spoke excellent English. The Lamb meatballs were excellent. the chicken was only dark meat;we would have liked white meat. All the food was very tasty and the service was fast. A fun evening! Visualizza piatti

A genuine 'made from scratch' cuisine. In the difficult environment of bureaucracy, inspections etc., the Sable d'Or's modest appearance belies the excellence of its kitchen. Cheerful and even entertaining, the hostess leads you through the Maghreb's dishes which you may find exotic, or familiar as in our case. We tried the lamb and chicken tagine, both, and found both excellent. Accompanied by a Sidi Brahim rose. It was clear that the other tables also were superbly served.

We hadn't planned to eat here but our chosen restaurant was closed and we ended up here instead. The tagines were not on that evening so our choices were couscous with various meats or vegetables. We really liked the fact that we felt we were eating a nutritious meal, lots of vegetables, and it wasn't overloaded with fats which so many restaurant meals can be. It felt very much like home cooked comfort food. The lady serving was a character and made us feel very comfortable.

I spent one dinner with a friend here, both had couscous, i with veggies, the buddy with some kind of strange looking sausages. The couscous was good, not as good where the, say, bowl with the topping soup with veggies like carottes, potatoes. It wasn't too tasty, we missed any spices or herbs.Wine is okay, about average. Service staff was quite helpful, a bit adagio and not too friendly.Conclusion is to come here for atmosphere, not for very good food.I'm tending not to go here again. Visualizza piatti

Very warm welcome, excellent and friendly service, really tasty food that is freshly made by the chef "made from scratch", Coucous and tajines - very authentic flavors. Excellent take out service too. I have many favorites - try them ALL! We have! A recent favorite is the Couscous Boulettes d/Agneau - a traditional couscous served with absolutely delicious lamb meatballs. On the weekends, I LOVE to get the Mechoui...hard to choose from all the delicious possibilities! Don't miss the amazing flavors of Ice Cream and Sorbets for dessert!

We walked here on a verry windy night from our hotel looking for a small spot with something tor a simple dinner and we found this lovely restaurant owned by a charming couple. The hostess was very helpful and had us drinking a good house wine within moments and before too long we were diving iinto large bowls of couscous which we had wiith chicken and excellen vegetables. The owner carefully fixed our chicken for us and dived into a perfect meal. This place is small, reasonable - our whole meal for tow including delicioous mint tea poured from a huge height by the woman in charge - was under 40E. Friendly service and plenty of delicious food. The Tagine was full of dried fruit fruits and vegetables and the chicken was so tender it fell off the bones. The lovely server prepared it perfectly at our table by seasoning my plate with lemon and cutting the chicken into two easily manageable pieces. My son had sausage couscous which was mildly spicy served with copious amounts of vegetables served in a light broth - not greasy at all. We were too stuffed for dessert but we did have mint tea - served very elegantly in authentic Moroccan tea glasses. The tea was a bit too sweet - we would have preferred to add our own sugar.
