"It was great food. There was one stocky bald guy who was a really good waiter. He was working his socks off. Then other staff were not so good. Chatting with friends at the bar while our large party needed drinks. A couple of the kitchen staff wandering about with a poor attitude, looking like they didn't want to be there. Should be happy to work there. It's a brilliant pub and they have a nice atmosphere to work in. I have high standards when I go for a meal. It's a rare treat for people. I don't want to see staff acting like they're doing you a favour by being there. On a side note you can see food staff on their phones touching work surfaces when the kitchen doors open. I would say that's quite unhygienic for food preparation. If I see staff using phones etc who prepare food it makes me worry about hygiene. It's like when I went in McDonald's and saw staff constantly touching their face. I've not been back since. Was 5 years ago. I might be wrong they might be cleaning their hands straight after. Just telling you what I saw and how you might be able to do a bit better. Appreciate good staff are in short supply at the moment."

Been here many times, beautiful pub with the most friendly and attentive staff. Food is absolutely lush and fab selection of alcohol. 10/10 can’t beat such a classic pub

This charming pub offers a lovely atmosphere and delicious food at a reasonable price. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it if you're in the Derby city center.

we took our grandchildren to lunch today and were really impressed. fantastic freendly service and eating was excellent and very good value for money £32 50 for 2 children and 2 adults including drinks

was on Saturday in the silk mill and had a burger and my other half had a combination that was fantastic and favorable. claire prepared our meals in time. I couldn't blame. would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great quirky pub

This restaurant is a fantastic spot for drinks or a meal, but the portion sizes are quite large for me as I don't eat much. The food is delicious, but sometimes it feels a bit excessive, with many dishes containing cheese and no options for lighter bites. Visualizza piatti

4 of us visited on a sunday, 3 had sunday dinner, one had a wrap. Awesome food, could not fault it at all and the service was really good. Slight wait for the food but the waiter kept us updated and it wasnt a long wait really, we enjoyed a couple of drinks. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Four longtime friends reunited for a meal and catch-up at the Old Silk Mill. The staff, Chloe and Claire, were fantastic and took excellent care of us. The food was exceptional and the service top-notch, making for a wonderful evening. The beers were perfectly kept and always satisfied. Bonus points for being dog-friendly.
