Excellent food and service. Wonderful wild garlic ketchup! First pub meal since lockdown and after a lovely mile walk; excellent start to the weekend. Looking forward to when the restaurant re-opens

we saw this sri Lankan flavor dinner, which sounded irresistible. the atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant and not loud. the food was nicely prepared and presented with a lot of dressed. we could not harm the food and taste the different dishes. the service was also excellent. the whole evening was very pleasant and exceeded expectations. will definitely go back.

my wife and traveled a few distances to meet with another couple for a meal and an overnight in the stall. due to the fault of a farmer with a dolch, the cold water in the gasthof was cut off for the large part of our stay. while the owner had to cancel most of the evening bookings, we were still treated with a delicious meal and a pleasant stay. the personal made every/exit to ensure that we enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful meal here on a busy Wednesday evening and with a friendly atmosphere. We shared some nibbles of whitebait which were hot and crisp from the pan. Then we each had scallops which were perfectly cooked. My husband then had a superb...fillet steak and I had tempura seabream with triple cooked chips wonderful. The best part of the meal was a generous cheeseboard with a selection of four cheese in good condition.

There were four of us. I had scallops that came with carrots and a sweet sauce. I would not have this again. The lamb was well cooked in a red wine reduction. The small amount of dauphinoise potato was not adequately cooked and frankly mashed...potato would have been better and simpler. The dessert, a chocolate mouse, just looked a mess. This is not a cheap place to eat and is on the edge of gastro-pub and has too many rivals in Herefordshire to hurry back. A pity as it feels like a loss.

Sunday lunch visit with husband and pooch. Set lunch menu was great as it was flexible. I didn't want a starter, but was able to change the three set courses and replace starters with coffees. Roast beef lunch. Amazing. Generous portions,wonderful roasties, tender beef, home...made Yorkshire pud, fresh veggies. Yum. Dessert was wonderful, and I don't usually have a dessert. Tangy lemon tart with a brilliant cassis sorbet. Flavours were perfect. Staff team were welcoming, friendly and very efficient. A lovely dog friendly restaurant. We will definitely be dining there again when we next visit. Thank you. Xxx

we had only a fantastic meal and they were recommended, and they were right to eat and service are amazing. my sister does not have to eat gluten and we are never able to choose the same meal, but we both had the amazing cakes and loved it. they would not know that it was gluten-free and I suppose that is the point. the baked was perfect and it was a real cake not meat with baked lid, that only pretends to be a cake! a hubby had a burger and another had a steak and both loved it. We’ve been to the Stagg with my in-laws many times pre-covid, but being able to finally Escape London for a self catered retreat we fancied a traditional Sunday lunch. The Stagg has adjusted to alfresco dining smoothly, tables are socially distanced and everything feels safe...and secure. The menu is similar to before, and being a Sunday the choice for me was obvious; Roast Beef. The staff were wonderfully attentive and the quantities plenty. The beef was tender, cooked to perfection with all the trimmings. My mother in law had the fish and commented that the batter was light and the fish very delicate. I visited with my man on Friday and we had the most amazing meal. siobhan extended an incredibly warm reception. I could not believe that they had my favorite wine, and also my favorite wine (beaujolais Gamay grape white rioja). excellent wine list with...big beeping and apple wine caught. the service was impeccable. I was even able to order a drink from the menu, and I asked to cool the wee, which did quickly. nothing was too much annoyed. eating is extraordinary. as pescatarians we had a good choice.
