"Always pleased to return here and, gosh, this time it had been far too long! I was dizzy with anticipation about the refurb, especially seeing the upgraded ladies' loos. At last, at last the 80s look has gone. All good. During the Olympics, we found ourselves watching a Rugby League match on the bar screen which was rather odd, we thought. We started with the chowder which was absolutely delicious and full of many different ingredients. We loved the very dark wheaten bread that came with it. My main was beef shortrib. This was pretty good, although more sauce would have gone down well. My husband said something similar about his lamb dish. The service was excellent. The waiter was polite and extremely pleasant. Wine by the glass comes in mini bottles. Friends had recommended dirty fries which aren't on the current menu. This wasn't a problem and we took home the very tasty dirty fries we couldn't manage. A pleasant dinner. The refurb gets rid of the sports bar feel, but I am not convinced Ruby has found her best look quite yet."

"The service was was excellent and so were the drinks. The chicken snitchzel that I ordered was fresh and cooked to order. My only criticism would be using fish batter for breaded fish on chicken. That was definitely a first for me, because I thought chicken snitchzel was coated in breadcrumbs. However, apart from my meal my friend enjoyed the burger. Price per person: £10–20"

"Have been to the silver lounge a few times and have gotten take away food, on this occasion I was sitting in with friends and found my experience to be poor. The place was not overly busy, the waitresses were unsure of what jobs to be doing and all 4 girls asked one table if they had ordered food very poor communication. One member of staff in particular was very rude (small loud), the phone was constantly ringing and eventually got lifted off the hook. I watched people come in to collect take aways and they were ignored and left standing for some time. My food was not overly fantastic, took a long time to arrive, small portion and the chips seemed like the left overs from the fryers."

"This charming cafe offers a wide variety of delicious dishes on their menu, although it can be a bit expensive, it's definitely worth it for a special indulgence. The service is excellent and perfect for a leisurely lunch. The recommended dish is their delicious Toastie."

"I have been to this restaurant a few times over the past couple of years, but I have noticed a decrease in the quality and timeliness of food delivery. The rice is consistently lukewarm, moist, and sometimes tastes soapy. The chicken can be tough and of low quality. This will be the last time I order from this place, as it took them 1 hour and 45 minutes to deliver my order. When I called to inquire about the delay, I was told to wait a few more minutes. After waiting 25 more minutes, I called back and was again told to wait a few more minutes because the owner was very busy and needed more time to cook everything to order. I expressed my frustration at already waiting for 1 and a half hours and questioned why customers were expected to wait so long if everything was cooked to order. The owner dismissed my concerns, saying it was busy and getting upset about the delay was not helpful. Additionally, he would often ask for cash payment instead of accepting card, and I was told that I should have mentioned that I needed the order quickly when placing it online, despite selecting ASAP. I will no longer be patronizing this restaurant and do not recommend it to others."
