"after several vain attempts to get a table even with a multi-week advance to christmas, then it worked on a normal Sunday, correspondingly high were the expectations. they were only partially fulfilled. the room is simple and modern, well maintained ambiente, even if the garderobe is irritated only after the entrance (unattended, you should already drop off or register in the restaurant ...?!). the welcome by the obvious chefin was abundantly subcooled, which remained so during the further course of the evening. with masters was chatted, even in the neighboring, with the unsightly effect that you had to return over minutes and back directly in front of the teller. the young service power did this through friendly beings and engagement again something.It was "French Week", the wobbly soup of my companion was excellent, my bouillabaise good. the main dishes had a good meat quality, the amount on the dish was large, but the preparation without raffinesse. the coq au riesling was almost barely plastered, boiled chicken, with a bound light sauce: a desired but not conjugated presentation. why an average supplemental salad with aromaless tomaten was served to me also does not reveal. We had the private room for a birthday party. Set menu which they do twice a year. Easy place to miss as it's inconspicuous and outside of Mainz in Finthen, but worth the journey.

we have redeemed our Jochen Swiss voucher for a 3-course menu. it has just been all the way, from the stylish modern facility (open recently renovated), the nice service and the delicious surprise menu.

as an old star hopper, the stone is always worth a visit. Somehow you notice the peculiarities of the family business. an extensive wine card with good selection of German drops. we have never been disappointed by eating, even this time. if you are staying in mainz, you must visit!

the surprise has earned every single star. each gang a new high point. the table-tranchated lamb-back was easy to kneel. an excellent choice of wine. the service is accommodating without being intrusive. we made the six courses plus espresso in three hours. is the perfect timing. we'll be back in any case! we were beautiful more often in the grapes and were always very satisfied. service and atmosphere is to feel comfortable. the foods are of very good quality without overfly. the prices are high but reasonable.It is only a matter of celebration when every small angle is occupied, then the attention suffers.

the card standard, but seasonal and extensive wine card. the food (mainly regional meat dishes) have tasted quite well throughout. the ambiente is good, but nothing special. priced but reasonable and therefore not excessive. I tend to be between 4 and 5 points and decided to have the full score due to the nice service and the family business.

we were four in the french week evening in the stones grapes. all were very satisfied, the preparation of all the courses was very good, although not exceptional. for that I would forgive four stars, the fifth star there is for the friendly and attentive operation. also with us the waiting period between the start and main food was too long - but it was unrequired apologise. then it goes into order... for many years we regularly go to eat here, usually with some friends. Even our high season we have celebrated here.The quality of the food and the extensive wine card are very difficult to bite! peter stone is an excellent cook and his wife annette a very attentive host and chefin of service. as you can not be satisfied here is absolutely mischievous....but as you call in the forest, it sounds back sometimes;.)-if you want to go to an above-average price/performance ratio in mainz and eat well, we can only recommend a visit at Stein`s. there is not often and actually always berthed, but is definitely worth a visit. so be fast.

"we thought it was time that four years ago opened patagonia in the mainzer neustadt to test. the bus and tram connection is excellent, the parking situation is very difficult. there is an outside area at the restaurant, and the dining room is large and clear. because the guests were distributed outside and inside, the reservation about opentable would not have been necessary. so we were allowed to choose a table and were welcomed by the two ladies in the service friendly. we found a rectangle with a view of a large flatscreen, on which a diashow of pictures ran from patagonia, which first triggered television. steaks are offered in all variations, and the selection is quite difficult. we first took three empanadas with different fillings that relatiw quickly came out of the kitchen and taste very good.My wife decided in the main course for a rumpsteak of the even medium rare with grill potatoes and salad. I had previously researched the card in the internet and asked myself what a flap steak was. wikipedia helped and so I knew it was a cut that is very common in patagonia and comes very close to the us sirloin strip. I wanted to try this and ordered it **** in the bloom. I took a foil potato. both supplements were handed with the obligatory sourcream with coriander. the two supplemental salads were fresh, colourful and crisp, with the carrots also liked as a supplement. Even with critical consideration, the performance was in all respects of expectations: the services were extremely friendly and stood also in the meat selection with rat and did the side. the we chose to be perfectly met. confusingly I found the hints in the menu on the recommended per steak. these were all together and especially between medium and well done. that was not comprehensible for me because of the top quality of meat, all in all a very successful evening with a quite reasonable price-performance ratio. we like to come back to patagonia."
