"I booked the festive menu for three and said I would have something off the menu all four of us had purchased a voucher for £15 which enabled us to have £25 towards meal and drinks. The three friends each paid a deposit of £5. The meal was dreadful!!! The service was slow and we were the only ones in there! The beef had no Yorkshire pudding, the Turkey ROLL was like Bernard matthew’s, my chicken was over cooked and dry it was supposed to have a sauce but I had to ask for gravy it was so dry! And the dessert (treacle tart) was not only cold but rock hard!!! We asked to speak to someone to say how disappointed we were and basically were brushed off then she told us one voucher per bill but we were told per person! So she then had to split the bill we all ended up giving her our vouchers because we wouldn’t go again. Appalling! The two stars were for the decorations!"

"We came as a group on Saturday night, it's a nice pub with a laid-back atmosphere. We were greeted pleasantly and all round the staff were really nice and made a clear effort to make everyone comfortable. The Guinness was a nice pint too. I...started with Pate, which was nice enough, nothing special. The side salad was a nice touch but they under-toasted the bread, so it wasn't the easiest to spread the pate it needed longer under the grill. For main, I had Gammon, one of two party members to do so. Others had Steve's Curry, where the comments were that the Curry itself was lovely but the rice somewhat waterlogged. Of my Gammon, the meat itself was nice, with a nicely cooked egg and a pineapple ring for some sweetness, always a good touch with gammon. The peas were a bit hard and the chips, though clearly home made and decent, needed seconds to a minute longer in the fryer, they were somewhat undercooked. The menu is reasonably priced, the staff great, the pub nice and I do think they'd do better with the meals on another occasion. We'll visit again to see. A few small improvements and I'd be giving the place stars."

"Booked as a Mothers Day celebration because there were no bookings available at the weekend. Had told my Mother that it was excellent, my favourite restaurant, the best place for miles for fillet steak etc etc. She was really looking forward to it. However, the...meal arrived on a cool plate, the chips were lukewarm, as was the steak and the onion loaf was cold. It was 6pm and the place was practically deserted with only 2 other people awaiting their meal. We sent both meals back and they returned at exactly the same temperature, except that the chips were now hot. We complained to the waitress and her reply was that she had seen the chips come out of the fryer. The two ladies at the next table also complained that their meal was not hot and they were given fresh chips. We then left as we felt that we were not going to receive a hot meal. We had both ordered fillet steak at a considerable but acceptable cost for a good quality meal, but not for food that was not hot. I have eaten there regularly since it opened but shall not do so again."

"Earlier this evening, we thought we'd give this place a go we heard it was under new management. We ordered garlic bread with cheese to start, and then chicken breast with a stilton sauce, mash and vegetables, as well as a steak and chicken burger with chips for the main course. The starter was fine. The presentation of the mains wasn't great, they both looked anaemic. Aesthetics aside, both meals were awful! The mashed potato with the chicken was cold. The waiter took it back to the kitchen and it was returned within a couple of minutes obviously blasted in the microwave. The steak and chicken burger was an absolute disaster the steak burger was raw and dripping with blood and the chips were pale and soggy. The waiter was friendly, pleasant and incredibly apologetic I'd go as far to say, he was mortified and highly embarrassed by the situation. All in all, the waiter was a credit to the establishment, it's such a shame the food was completely unacceptable. Needless to say, we won't be returning again. As we couldn't eat the main courses, we went to McDonald's instead the food was much better!"

"Very disappointing. Took ages to be seated and the restaurant was cold, we were given a table right next to the service station so there were servers coming and going all the time. Asked what the Kansas caviar was and the waitress didn't know, which is something that you would expect them to, or for an explanation to be on the menu. The food was good but not spectacular and over priced. More interested in bums on seats than customer comfort that table should not be there. Also saw servers decanting mayo and other sauces into the same bottles. Can understand some sauces but mayo?? How old is that mix??? Sure other people enjoyed themselves but I personally wouldn't go there again. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1"
