To be honest, the place is pretty good, decent food and beers. In the middle of Freiburg. Staff was not really cool though.

had a very large pasta bolognese for 5,90 euro, amazing! service is direct, but not so friendly. eating was good and in German portions. later on the weekend evenings it becomes a danceable one, with commercial music until 4 o'clock. with some German. recommended!

Neat place. Definitely a local hangout as college students were everywhere. The food was good. Big portions and good tastes. Extensive schnitzel menu and good beer options. Highly recommend for a casual night out or looking to eat a big meal before a night of...drinking!

We stopped here for lunch randomly and were quite taken with the lively feel of the place. The friendly waitress told us there would be a wait for our order to arrive on this busy Saturday. The food was decent, huge portions, and for a...good price, but it really was a very long wait.

It was recommended to us as a good place to taste Schnitzel at a reasonable prize and they were right. A big variety of dishes, friendly atmosphere, quick service, Tachelles was a warm shelter for the six starving us. The place seems to be young...people's favorite it's getting full of words and laughter around seven which makes it cozy. I will definitely visit it next time

Located in the Altstadt and one level below ground in a charming cellar like setting, this restaurant is known for its schnitzel, serving it up in no less than 24 flavours! Liking my food spicy, I ordered the “Diablo” which came with a Paprika ...Chilli sauce. It was sufficiently spicy and made the schnitzel more appetizing for me. If you like schnitzel, this place is for you!

they enjoy here on Easter Monday evening when many other places were closed. the service was friendly and fast. our German is not present and their new English menu came only next week. the chap was very helpful and its recommendation (Black Forest... sauce carving) was delicious. the outside-hoof setting was nice on red/white tablecloths and the beers were beautiful. chips were served on the side of the carving. I guess that proves Australians how it should be done.

Went there during our trip to Freiburg waitress brought the wrong beer, and tried to argue we were wrong (we are both German native speakers so there was no language problem . Then when we ordered a schnitzel with potatoes rather than fries we...got the schnitzel with fries. When one of her colleagues corrected her about the beer, near our table we could hear her very loudly argue back. The food itself was ok. Nothing to write home about. Wouldn't go again, or recommend to anyone to go. And if you go there as a non German tourist, and get the wrong order it's probably not your fault ;

we are great carving fans so came here to try out it after reading the many great reviews on trip advisor. there is certainly a large selection to choose from loads of different carvings, sauces and sides, along with other favorites like curry sausage etc. Of course. the great selection also means that there is a great playroom for mistakes and I was a little disappointed that they get my order wrong. it is also inconsistent that we came twice, my wife ordered the same twice, and a completely different presentation was brought for the second time by the first. for a place with so much choice they are also strangely strict about what they can order: I asked if I could order curry sausage and...
