Taj - Menu

We called in for dinner and was our first visit, the staff were lovely and setting welcoming. The place was busy but sadly we found the food lacking, to much sauce on everything and most of the good red!! Maybe just our choice.

The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious. The menu offers a variety of options, including Chicken Naga, Lamb Mughlai, three different types of rice, Chicken Tikka Biriani, plenty of sides like pops and pickles, and Keema Naan.

We visited for lunch on Christmas Day. The staff had created a lovely festive atmosphere, and the food was amazing. We left with lots to take away too. Definitely ticks the boxes for a memorable meal without any of the stress of cooking on Christmas Day.

We picked up a Takeaway on Sunday 18th March. We’re disappointed as it didn’t taste as good as our Takeaway’s from Taj before, I said it’s got to be a different Chef. Who knows but now of course they cost more money than a year or so ago. Makes you think twice before spending out in the future.

At around 8pm, the restaurant suddenly decided to close and made it very clear that we should leave. The service was terrible, the food was mediocre, and the drinks were incredibly overpriced. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. I recommend going to Broadstone for a better dining option instead of this place. Total rip off!

We had a fantastic Christmas lunch at the Taj restaurant today. The food was outstanding, reasonably priced, and we received a complimentary extra main course and Indian beverage. The ambiance was incredibly relaxing and festive, the service was exceptional and very friendly. As we were leaving, we were gifted a high-quality bottle of wine. Our Christmas day was truly made special and we will definitely be returning soon.

We have ordered take-ways on a number of occasions. Each time, the orders have been efficiently taken over the phone, the food has been ready for collection at the specified time and the food has been truly delicious. The chicken has always been amazingly tender, and the dishes are never swimming with ghee. Staff are very welcoming, friendly and efficient. We thoroughly recommend this rstaurant. We already have planned our next trip.

Taj has become our favourite Indian restaurant. We had the banquet deal you just have to watchout for the surcharges, an extra £6 for any seafood, fish or duck) Absolutely fantastic meal again and generous portions. Excellent service from the waitress. I had a Lamb Tikka Xacuti, a dish I haven't found anywhere else. Quality and full flavour was superb. It tasted great on the night and even better the next day where we took the remainder home.

We had a mixed experience with our dinner last night. My starter, stuffed pepper, tasted ok but the pepper was still half raw and the dish was luke warm. With some added mango chutney it was ok. Both our main courses, chicken korma and chicken tikka marsala, tasted really nice but my korma had obviously been standing around for quite sometimes as the sauce on top had started to congeal a bit. Portion size was good. Drinks were awful, my diet coke was completely flat and our coffee and cappuccino were so weak and watery, they were undrinkable. We sent all of these back. This used to be a really great Indian restaurant but sadly they are cutting too many corners now, we won't rush back.
