"We stopped in here for a lunch whilst driving from Nerja to Andorra. The town is close to the highway and on the beach etc. We picked this restaurant based on TA ratings etc and it was directly on the beach. We decided to share a 2 person Paella, I discussed with the waiter the Mixed Paella I have a shellfish allergy. He assured me that the shellfish would be excluded, wasn’t sure about content in the sauce though. We took a chance. (He later popped back to say there was shellfish in the sauce and they would only use a meat based stock this was well managed). When it arrived it was all very decidedly salty (so much for the meat stock), the fish (unknown white fish squid) was very “fishy smelly” and rubbery, and also contained some mussels !! Seems they use frozen prepacked shell fish parcels for the Paella, and the chef didn’t bother picking them all out... really!!! Needless to say we were both suffering from stomach problems all the way to Andorra (5+ hours). The decor etc isn’t great and needs a serious overhaul. The service wasn’t bad overall, and hence the 2 stars."

"I repeat with some frequency and I don't consider myself an expert, if I consider myself a gourmet and if I'm lucky to let myself go to medium/high-category sites. is one of the best rinconcitos I know, with excellent treatment and top quality products. it is difficult to find another nearby place with the variety of wines and the detail that puts you to combine with your choice of dishes. from ignorance and from the point of view of which you think eating well is eating half a cow in family, given and without just paying for the preparations, it is an expensive place, but from my point of view, it is joto, comparing to what the others offer in their surroundings and in the province. It is worth noting the humility and the commitment to improve that I have found in more than years that I know him. recommended for those looking for good pairings with special dishes. For everything else, in the super there are paellas for two and frozen burgers and, without underestimating, that of my environment does not know what a steak is and has never taken a wine worth more of that, I recommend the site to people who do not surprise themselves with the price, nor consider plaster to the service to explain and recommend the best choice of the moment."

"el mejor helado de Oropesa sin duda. Así que los helados de frutas saben fruta real, son cremosos y deliciosos. Buen jardín de infantes o ferretes de cazadores son super logrados. Si quieres probar la auténtica calidad italiana, tienes que ordenar los helados que han cubierto en la barra trasera, como el chocolate oscuro. No exagero cuando digo que no he probado el mismo helado en el entorno. No lo dudes, si quieres disfrutar de un buen helado, este es tu lugar. Además, el precio es más o menos el estándar."

"restaurant away from noise and cars, located on the beach of Cabanes. Its exterior aspect does not allow the treasures of the interior to be seen: a letter not very wide (except that of rice, where there are for all drops), in which the good make of the kitchen prevails with good materials. The service was super friendly and attentive, burdened with patience in the face of the comensal's doubts. Totally recommended!The reindeer stew ... simply wonderful. And the cheese table."

"Looking for a special restaurant to mark the end of our son's 10-day holiday with us, we were recommended Restaurant a Roda as a place locals frequent away from the more touristy venues along the seafront at nearby Concha Beach. We were pleased we followed the advice as our party of three enjoyed an excellent and reasonably priced dinner. We were particularly pleased that we were not the only diners, though being an out-of-season Thursday evening, it was still sparsely populated. Despite that the atmosphere was convivial and our waiter was welcoming and attentive, even though he couldn't speak English and our Spanish is virtually non-existent. We chose our starters of calamares a la Romana, a house salad and a plate of Iberico ham but the waiter, noting that they were for us individually rather than for sharing, adjusted the portion sizes and prices to reflect this, which we thought showed excellent consideration for diners' needs. My son and I had entrecôte, which was huge and beautifully cooked and served in a sauce of our choosing. My wife also said her lemon sole was superb and she would definitely choose it again if we ever return. We were slightly disappointed that our first choice of wine was not available but the (cheaper) alternative was really delicious and quaffable so no complaints there. There was also no solomillo available and the waiter admitted the pudding menu was also a bit restricted, though the flan and tarta Santiago we had were home made and delicious. With drinks, including a large gin and tonic, a bottle of Rioja, mineral water and coffees, the total bill came to just over €112 which we all agreed was great value. Diners looking to get off the tourist track should certainly include Restaurant a Roda in their itinerary for an authentic taste of Spain. Muy bien."
