"I had heard so much about the Sunday Roasts at The White Horse, Sittingbourne that I just had to try one for Myself. I work on a Sunday so I ordered a take away to collect after work. It's reputation certainly preceded it and it was as good as everything I'd heard about it and much more. I had the mixed meats which were Chicken, Pork, Beef and Gammon and all meats were cooked to Perfection as were the fresh vegetables of Roast Potatoes, Roast Parsnips, Yorkshire Pudding, Cauliflower Cheese, Cabbage, Carrots and Peas. I know they're fresh too not just by the taste, but as I work in a supermarket and Landlady buys them fresh every week. The Gravy was Amazing too with all meat juices in. Could of ate the whole dinner twice over. It certainly Exceeded expectation and was worth every penny and will 100% be visiting again. Thank You Very Much. Anybody that hasn't been needs to experience this Roast Dinner. It's So worth the visit.I was greeted with a Lovely Friendly Welcoming Atmosphere upon collection and lots of people were eating in too."

"This is NOT a review about quality of food. Have eaten here a few times and the standard is usually high. I don’t know if they have new owners but the menu choices now are VERY INFLEXIBLE. One of our party of three only wanted a small breakfast. IE One piece of bacon, one egg etc. All your items on the main menu are TWO of everything. Your offer of a 4 or 5 item breakfasts are nonsense as it’s two of everything. You lost sales today due to your inflexibility. Tried to add 1 slice of bacon to some egg on toast but told its £2.15. Because you only sell bacon in 2’s !! In my opinion you are excluding some diners with your menu policy. Be interesting to see if you listen and learn. Are the owners not aware in this day and age ALL trade is vital. The customer is king but You refused to sell us a small breakfast ??"

"I asked if they would fry me a fresh small cod and the lady said yes sure. I went away for 5 minutes, came back and she handed me the box straight away. I thought it would of taken more than 5 minutes to fry a piece of cod but I didn't say anything. When I drove home(5 minutes away)and tasted the cod it was no way freshly fried, I certainly know what a piece of cod tastes like when it's just come out the frier, it had been sitting in the display cabinet for some time in my opinion. The batter was soft and soggy and it wasn't hot like when cod IS freshly fried. If your not prepared to fry it fresh for me just say so please. When the cod is fried fresh I have no complaints but when it's been sitting there for some time in the display cabinet it's not pleasant atall. Not satisfied on this occasion. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £1–10 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3"

"I guess having been coming here for over 30 years there can’t be too much wrong with this place. Last night we had a takeaway. Fantastic food. Of course we have tried other places, both locally and further afield but each time we do, we compare it to the Empress and agree that the Empress’ food is far better Staff are always friendly, food is always of a high quality and plentiful and is reasonably priced. Staff are always friendly and Babul is a legend."

"for the manager reference incase they the necessity to follow this up, I visited 06/07/21 around approx. 19:30 and sat on table 11. I stopped walking at midnight for a quick pint. I sat on table 11 and continued to order a pint curious beer. second swallow, the table I sat, was tilted until my pint spills over me and I twisted the knee, on which I was waiting for operation. without risking facemask inside and no service outside, I have another pint with the app to pay so I am not £8.80 for a pint beer. when the second pint was bought, there was an expectation that the waitress would deliver a form of repair. the reality of the situation was that she could not have been less interested by saying the words, oh they lost her pint when I informed her that I was not aware that the table was broken, she would not have been interested less if she had told me that she did not care, at least then there was a form of cognitive assessment of the situation. there was no sign on the table, a thorough check of the table would have shown that it was not suitable for the purpose. that is not my responsibility. in a time when the hospitality sector is on the knees, please write it. but £8.80 to consume a pint, beer dipped legs and a twisted knee, up from a waitress that no less interested, made me wish I had not stopped. the not so local pub opposite the next secondary school offers much better service."
