"We have been going to the Church Mouse for food for a long time. The decor is nice and comfortable and the staff are as attentive polite and friendly as they can possibly be. We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday to be told there were a number of items, Yorkshire Puddings, Creme Brûlée no longer on the menu as they had run out. Also we were warned that the wait fir food would be 30 minutes, it ended up being 45 minutes. The food was perfectly ok, the Steak was well cooked and presented. The chips were adequate but slightly under cooked, surprisingly for triple cooked chips. Bar service was slow too and we ended up leaving without desert as the one we wanted was no longer available. Normally a good experience, the waiter waitress was great, very friendly, I felt sad that the experience was not as it used to be ... So I guess COVID has taken it's toll ... maybe we will try again in a few months."

Lovely atmosphere, with good food and service. Table for two tend to be tucked away in corners and not everyone wants to be secluded and away for the social atmosphere.

I easily booked a table on the website and, upon arrival, we were seated right away. The staff were very friendly, and the food was excellent. Will we be returning? Absolutely!

The creme brûlée had no custard in it, just mushy fruit. The mash was over microwaved and had a big grey lump in it. We weren’t advised that the creme brûlée was not the traditional dessert and was cherry

Can’t fault all the staff. They were all friendly and helpful as far as covid rules it was excellent. The food was good and well presented. I had steak with garlic prawns. (Prawns we’re an additional cost but not as amazing as I thought they would be) Mushroom too additional cost So hence a little pricey over all. We will go again though.

Although the pub itself is very nice and the customer service was good, I felt somewhat let down by the quality and quantity of food supplied for the cost which is now very very expensive. For example the bonoffi pie for dessert cost of £7 and was nothing special at all and the portions were very small. It was our first trip there. The staff was very attentive and the choice of food was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The only thing that beat everything about the evening was the food we had ordered. We just loved everything we had chosen. From the presentation of our meals to the taste was above our expectations, but it was exceptional. We'll be back soon and I can't wait. It was our first visit to the Church Mouse, and it certainly won’t be the last. The staff was incredibly attentive, and the food selection was outstanding. The atmosphere was both relaxed and welcoming. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the meal we ordered—we loved everything we chose. From the presentation to the taste, every dish exceeded our expectations and was truly exceptional. We can't wait to return soon!
