A lovely traditional café with delicious sandwiches (we had fresh crab) and homemade cakes and scones. Attentive service. You can eat inside at pretty tables or outside u see umbrellas.

We had a nice local crab and prawn open sandwich and a pot of tea. Service was excellent with lovely attentive staff. Portion was smaller than we expected but very tasty. But it was a big pot of tea. We would go again.

We visited here during the week. I ordered a cream tea with green tea and my husband a savoury tea with a coffee. We sat outside and enjoyed the food. We expected to pay around £12, based on £5.95 advertised price. However the final bill...was £16!

The best cream tea I have ever had. The scones were warm and fresh and the cream thick. The food and drinks were served in beautiful and delicate china. The interior was antique and lovely. The staff were kind and humorous. Would definitely one back again.

A visit to this quaint tea shop did not disappoint. China crockery, varied menu with both savoury and cream teas and prices not to break the bank. Seating both inside and out to watch the hustle and bustle of Budleigh passing by in the autumn...sun. Well worth a visit especially for the new raspberry sponge ! Andrea

Lovely welcome, owner very accommodating, moving a table so we had easier access. All staff made sure that everything was satisfactory. The food was lovely. Lots of gluten free on the menu. Salad even had apples and grapes in it. Pasty, hot and lots of filling. Latte coffees were lovely. The hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows were almost like a meal in themselves. The cakes and pies for desserts were to die for. (Think I need to go on a diet now! All in all a fantastic place to go. We will definitely be back. Thank you. X

Myself and my husband popped in today for coffee and maybe some cake. It looked very cosy and pretty on the outside so thought we would stop and have a treat. We noticed that about a third of the tables had reservations signs on them...so we went to the counter to ask if there were any tables free. The lady who was serving at the counter turned to ask an older woman behind her (believe she may have been the manager) if we could have a table. We were met with a sharp, irritated response stating that they were no longer serving food or sandwiches (which we didn’t ask for or want). When we said it was just for a couple of coffees, the woman responded by telling us how busy she had been that day...

A stroll down Budleigh’s High Street and into Fore Street will take you to the Cosy Teapot just a few minutes from the beach. Its the only café in the shopping area where you can sit outside. we had a really disappointing visit today. we arranged to check, dogs are welcome, and when they had burst and were told they were coming as they had a table free. When we arrived there, a flustered lady told us that we could have the ersatztisch, but it would wait a long time. we decided it was the waiting time after a beautiful cream tee there worth 6 years ago. while I was sitting my 4 year old, I played with the sugar and salt caches and a gentleman who worked there, came by and grabbed my son who showed him very little respect or friendliness. the woman we first spoke with very angry, told us that we cannot have the chair for my daughter, where she was positioned and took her chair away...
