The Denbigh - Menu

We enjoy going here for lunch or dinner,good food lovely friendly staff. But we just feel that the place could do with a bit of TLC ... we were seated near the fireplace which is a great feature of the pub, but it looks so drab but doesn't need to, it could so easily look fantastic.

My son and I had a wonderful roast dinner at this restaurant today. Despite being very busy, the service was top-notch. The pork was perfectly cooked and the vegetables were really fresh. It was a fantastic experience and great value for money. We will definitely be returning! And I almost forgot to mention the delicious Eaton Mess dessert.

The four of us had lunch there today. We had four different meals and all agreed that they were as good as you could ever get. Four clean plates! Cannot understand how some of the reviews to be seen on here would ever have happened. Delightful staff who looked after us with good humour too. Many thanks. Will return at the earliest next opportunity.

This pub is such a lovely pub, the garden is beautiful, staff are very accommodating but I feel like it’s missing something. The menu has lots to offer but it doesn’t appear that anything is freshly made it seems to be straight out of a freezer but still costs a lot. The salad coleslaw was such poor quality. I would definitely go back for a drink but would avoid eating there again. Quite disappointing.

The staff were very nice so no worries there. The fish and chips were the most awful I have ever had. The pub is near the sea yet the fish was clearly months in the freezer. The flesh had no substance. The thin coat of batter was only just cooked, sloppy and no crispness. The chips were also slightly undercooked and the mushy peas clearly from a tin. The meatballs were swimming in fat. Given the good reputation of this pub I was very disappointed and won't be returning in a hurry.

The waitresses at the restaurant were great, but the owner-manager seemed more focused on the regular customers. The food looked amazing and my daughter's meal and mine were delicious. However, my husband's jerk chicken burger was awful. It was brown inside and had an off taste. When we raised our concerns, the waitress took the burger to the kitchen and returned with a jar of sauce, claiming the chef said that was what he used. We paid full price for a burger that tasted rotten, but our complaints were not addressed. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

Went for Sunday lunch. I had roast beef, daughter had fish and chips with curry sauce and husband had a burger. All enjoyed, and daughter who is fussy, but said fish and chips good. Beef was tender and tasty. Puddings consisted of banoffee pie, chocolate brownie and Portuguese tart, all demolished, so we all enjoyed! Eaten here before and always enjoyed, and will return again. Only downside today was service was slow. I’d say a good 25 minutes between our food order being taken and it arriving. We were not in a rush but would have preferred to have not waited so long. However first time this has happened eating here so either due to being busy or maybe understaffed today?

I went to this restaurant to meet up with friends. I ordered the fish and chips, which was tasty but came in a small portion. It was served with french fries, which was unusual but tasted okay. The peas could have been cooked a bit longer. The waitress informed us that the desserts were not homemade, except for the cheesecake, and were priced at £7.90, which we found to be too expensive so we decided not to order any. My friend tried the cheesecake and found it to be tiny and not worth the price. Despite the slow service (there were only 3 tables dining), we had a lovely evening with good company. Went for Sunday lunch (or not)! We booked a table with the owner, but when we arrived there was no booking. The waitress just said ‘oh well I’ll find a table’. She showed us to the table and asked what drinks we wanted. When she brought the drinks over she also gave us some menus. We then sat there and sat there and no waitress came to take our order. The waitress who gave us the menus walked past us and looked over many times, but did not take any order. Our booking was for 4pm and there was only four other tables in the pub so they were not busy at all.
