Lovely service which is always a great start. I have noticed the price has gone up but portion size is good. Cater for vegetarian.

Had the pork tacos delicious flavours and a nice little kick from the salsa. The tortillas were corn and homemade, much better than the bought in standard elsewhere. Also available chicken and veggie option. Will try them next time. Friendly, professional service.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance after finding other local cafes closed, but we are so glad we did. I ordered The Tollington, a generous portion of smoked salmon, fluffy eggs, and toast. My husband ordered the full breakfast, which was fresh and hot. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy.

Went here without a booking on a sunday as a group of 5. Staff were very accommodating and a lovely couple happily moved from a large table to allow us sit down. We sat and chatted after our food and enjoyed our coffees. We weren't rushed even though it was a busy morning. There was also no issue with us paying separately at the till.

I enjoy exploring local breakfast spots, so today we decided to give the front room cafe a try. The staff were friendly and the cafe was roomy, which was a plus. I ordered a tasty veggie breakfast and poached eggs with toast. Since the cafe wasn't crowded, we had plenty of space to ourselves. However, none of the staff were wearing masks, which made me feel uneasy. There was a lot of loud chatter between the staff and regulars, which took away from the cozy ambiance of the place. Ordered acocado toast with an egg which was very tasty (though the toast was a little burnt) and a tropical smoothie which I have been yearning for ever since! My girlfriend and I were walk-ins around 11.30am. All seats were taken outside but we were one of two pairs inside. It became a lot busier after we were served. Our waiter was very sweet and well-mannered! He was so kind giving us time to order. We also had a female checking up on us. Our only complaint was that they forgot to bring us tap water so we had to ask again, but the food and drink and the staff more than made up for it! Thank you, Front Room!

I had planned to visit The Front Room in October, but our visit didn't happen as planned. Today, on the 29th of October, we were looking for a great place to meet for an early breakfast. After researching and visiting the website, I was impressed by everything that The Front Room had to offer. Both of us made the journey, one coming from Welwyn Garden City and the other from Old Street. We arrived at 8:15 AM, only to find that the restaurant was not ready to serve customers despite their advertised opening time of 8:00 AM. The shutter was half down and all the furniture was stacked up inside. This experience was disappointing and frustrating.

Been here previously on a number of occasions and food and service were always good. Sadly it seems standards have gone downhill since. We had to ask for menus twice after being seated. The waitress forgot what we’d ordered (4 items) and came back twice to check. Food was average, my bacon on the full English was clearly dry and reheated and the bread wasn’t the sourdough that was advertised. We would’ve liked to get some brown sauce or ketchup but weren’t offered any and nobody could be flagged down when they came outside, as they’d just bring stuff out and leave rather than scanning to see if anyone needed anything else.
