"I had a disappointing experience at The Lion in Wendlebury. After a day of exploring Blenheim Palace, my family and I decided to have a late lunch at the restaurant. We arrived around 7:30, hoping to enjoy some starters. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by rude and unprofessional service. The restaurant was not busy, but the staff seemed overwhelmed and rushed. One staff member was particularly disrespectful towards a female bartender, making offensive remarks about her gender. Overall, I would not recommend dining at The Lion and suggest finding another restaurant with better service."

"We went here late Friday afternoon for their 1/2 price Fish Chips. We were so impressed. Firstly, I’m a vegetarian, so eat dairy and I really wanted veggie fish and chips as the husband was having F C. They have halloumi on the menu here, so I barefaced asked if they’d do some halloumi in batter so that I could have similar to the Mr. They agreed and when it came out it looked amazing and tasted really delicious, very naughty, but hey, it was Friday and looked like Fish and Chips and bonus, 1/2 price! This traditional pub just outside Bicester is absolutely wonderful, so friendly and cosy, especially with the wood burner lit which oozes the ambiance needed on a crisp Autumnal afternoon/evening. We were looked after impeccably by the staff, especially our lovely waiting person, she couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was worthwhile. I’d come here every Friday if my waist line could take it!"

"I visited this restaurant for lunch today with a group of 5 adults and a baby. The staff were very accommodating and made room for the baby's pushchair. The restaurant has a great selection of burgers, sides, and a fantastic children's menu. We all ended up ordering the pastrami burger, which was delicious with thick slices of pastrami. I usually prefer smash-style burgers, but these thick burgers were juicy and perfectly seasoned - I might be a convert! The sides were all excellent, with crispy and fluffy chips, crisp onion rings, and cheesy mac and cheese. The restaurant is very child-friendly, with coloring sheet menus, staff willing to prepare younger babies' food, clean highchairs, and space made to accommodate families with children. The children's menu offers great prices and choices."

"Good service and decent food... it was a good place to have a long lunch on a Saturday and was quiet enough to hear everyone talking. A mix of families, younger and older was good to see. The food itself was good and could have been even better. The rosemary and garlic focaccia was a pizza rather than a chewy, moist hunk of soft, flavoured, airy bread. Olives were good and the calamari was also a little dry. Pizza was competent, lasagna was ok and heavy. Cobb salad was heavy on leaves and the spag bol looked a little grey. The penne arabbiata was good and spicy! Sticky toffee pudding was also heavy, however, the cookie and cream cheesecake (vegan) was exceptionally good and the Tuscan lemon custard tart was light and sharp...really good too. Overall good and fair value for 3 courses with non-alcoholic drinks. Dietary restrictions: Limited options for dairy free and nightshade intolerance and staff did all they could.
