"We went here late Friday afternoon for their 1/2 price Fish Chips. We were so impressed. Firstly, I’m a vegetarian, so eat dairy and I really wanted veggie fish and chips as the husband was having F C. They have halloumi on the menu here, so I barefaced asked if they’d do some halloumi in batter so that I could have similar to the Mr. They agreed and when it came out it looked amazing and tasted really delicious, very naughty, but hey, it was Friday and looked like Fish and Chips and bonus, 1/2 price! This traditional pub just outside Bicester is absolutely wonderful, so friendly and cosy, especially with the wood burner lit which oozes the ambiance needed on a crisp Autumnal afternoon/evening. We were looked after impeccably by the staff, especially our lovely waiting person, she couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was worthwhile. I’d come here every Friday if my waist line could take it!"

"Went for a family meal here today, after having tried several others in the area previously There were fourteen of us, ranging from 9 to 94, and we chose from the Sunday Roast menu Everything about the place was welcoming, cheerful and cosy. The food was excellently cooked and served hot, with plenty of well cooked vegetables, gravy and sauces We will definitely be returning here, and keeping up contact with the staff, in their newly established venture. They deserve wholehearted support, I am certain that they will do well here Many thanks to a top quality team"

"My husband and I booked dinner here as I saw a couple of good reviews online. The hotel and restaurant looked lovely and the menu looked promising. However when the food came out it was very disappointing. My husband ordered the steak and I ordered the chicken. My husband steak was so small he nearly did not see it on the plate. It looked like it had been boiled and looked very unappetising. Considering they are charging £37 pounds for this steak ,a few mushrooms and a few leaves thrown on the plate it was disappointing. The food on a whole was average for a bill of £110 which included one glass of wine, therefore the rest was on food. We did complain to the waiter who tried to be as understanding as he could, and agreed with our comments, saying he would pass the feedback back to the chef. We would definitely not go back there again."
