"Interesting 18th Century pub situated on a pronounced slope at the northern end of the village. Quite narrow too, as positioned between the road and church land at the rear. Plenty of parking opposite. We called in one weekday lunchtime and were the only partakers of food. The bar area looked quite cosy and was well-marshalled by a clearly very experienced lady. The separate dining area further along seemed roomier, but did look rather tired. Menu on offer had an ample selection of pub favourites, with the unexpected bonus of suet puddings. Whilst intrigued, we were after something rather lighter. My vegetable spring rolls and chips reminded me of student days grappling with a microwave. Mrs EPR's baked potato was a commendable monster, and happily awash with beans and grated cheese. She enjoyed it but didn't eat again until breakfast the following day!So job done; cheap, cheerful and filling lunch achieved successfully."

We reserved a table here for diner as wasn't sure how busy it would be. We had delicious meals with plenty on the menu. The pub was quiet and the owners really made us feel welcome. Our boys loved the fabulous desserts.

A lovely village pub, passed by whilst we were cycling in the area and dropped in about 8:30pm. The landlord was just about to close up as it was a quiet night but stayed open just for us. Great service and a lovely peaceful location.

I had a homemade mint and lamb burger with salad and fries and my friend had a beef burger. They were great. We sat on a small terrace at the rear of the pub which overlooks a lovely old church. The owners were very pleasant. The prices were very reasonable

We ate here on Sunday 26th January 2020 for lunch we arrived around 1pm and was greeted by the two people running the pub. There wasn’t a huge range of choice but then again it is a small village pub. Food was average for the price and was served very quickly.

I must say that we were positively surprised by this pub. Stepping in felt like stepping in a time capsule back to 1999, which we liked. The pub looks like it has been lived in for a long time. It has a hidden decking facing the church which is much better then the one that faces the road. The food was surprisingly good even you can see that there are not a lot of people opt to eat there. A proper old school pub in a tiny village. I hope it survives.

"So, the first problem was the booking (and the exact same thing had happened the previous time we arrived at this restaurant with an Open Table booking). I had made the booking online and received confirmation both via email and in the OT app, which I could show at the restaurant. When I made the booking very limited times were available: nothing between 11.45am and 2pm, so we assumed the restaurant would be crowded. When we arrived a little before our 2pm booking, it was three-quarters empty and they had no record of my booking. Since the place was largely empty this didn't matter, but on another occasion it might have done. And maybe one reason the place was so empty was that other potential customers had also seen no availability between 11.45am and 2pm, so Cote had no online bookings. Either Open Table or Cote need to sort out what is wrong with their booking systems as it seems that in Horsham at least the systems do not talk to each other. The food was fine, typical Cote just as you would expect, but the service was disappointing. In a largely empty restaurant one might expect efficient and attentive service but we got nothing of the sort. It was hard to get attention from any server and we had to request some items several times. Someone who from her dress was probably the duty manager, spent most of her time lounging or chatting with other staff members rather than making sure customers got good service."
