Absolutely amazing dining experience! Staff were super nice and helped make it special for an anniversary dinner! Views are lovely and truly worth the money. We didn’t pick matching drinks menu, just a bottle of wine with our food and it was perfect.

So disapointing the fabulous location and views could not make up for really poor food or average service . Such a shame as we were here to celebrate a birthday . Ridiculously over priced too . This place is clearly riding on the coat tails of a now departed chef and needs to find a new chef and staff pronto

This restaurant in Edinburgh is one of the finest. The breathtaking view adds to the overall experience, offering a fantastic dining experience with panoramic city views. Tonight’s dining experience was everything you would hope for with a special night out in mind. The views were breathtaking, the staff were top quality and the food was beautiful all of it without being pompous. Would highly recommend to everyone! We were a table of 2 but if you are a group of 6, request the round table in the corner window section of the restaurant and you’ll definitely have the best seats in the house.

Delightful lunch enjoyed by us in a somewhat utilitarian setting (inside) but with a view to DIE for! Really amazing spot to enjoy the glory of Edinburgh in the distance, enhanced by a wonderful tasting menu of a meal. There's nothing quite like savouring taste suggestions, as it were, and not feeling like you've overdone it, especially in the middle of the day. Thank you to everyone who looked after us; we had such a nice time there, and we'll definitely be back. Word to the wise: it IS possible to trek up the hill to reach this spot, but a cab will bring you to the top of the hill and you only have to walk a minute or two to reach the restaurant. Enjoy!

This restaurant review is for a comedy show at a festival this year. The food was very disappointing, with a high bill of over £400 for unexciting dishes that were poorly executed. The attempt to pass off the food as fine dining was a failure, as the dishes were overly seasoned, cold, bland, and simplistic. The venison course was the only passable dish, but the rest of the courses were a letdown for the price. There were no extras like amuse bouche or palate cleansers, not even a complimentary truffle. First the positives the view over Edinburgh is quite spectacular. The food is good, but overpriced for what it is. The paired wine was expensive, meanly portioned, and inexplicably served in tumblers rather than proper wine glasses. What really lets it down though is the service which, while not exactly bad, just doesn 't deliver the full fine dining experience you expect at this price. For example: we 're not guys we 're sir and madam. If you take our coat when we arrive, we expect you to return it to us at the end of the meal, not make us rummage through a coat rack. My friend and I went to the restaurant as a special treat to ourselves. As you read below, you must bear in mind that this meal is priced at £85 per head, excluding drinks and service. Our first impression was that we'd walked into a canteen. The tables had no table cloths and the napkins were paper. This was further reinforced when we were served our red wine in tumblers. My wife and I had the fixed lunch menu yesterday: The good part of the experience was the view over to Fife. The rest was disappointing. The parsnip veloute was very tasty, but there was not enough of it in the bottom of the plate to cover the spoon. The duck leg was served with a few small squares of kale, and two sauces, both fairly bland and there was very little meat on the duck leg after the skin, gristle, and bone had been set aside. The poached pear dessert was underwhelming, a good enough poached pear, served with a small amount of hazelnut cake on the side and an even smaller amount of chocolate cream, very disappointing.
