Excellent Haven't used for few years. But still best chippy around. Quick service. Plenty of staff serving. Like with everything it's gone up but still worth the money

Had food from here twice now. Both times massively disappointed. Fish cake and sausage were okay but the chips were awful, undercooked and soggy. Plenty of better options nearby. Avoid

I've been using the Master Fryer or a good few years now. I had takeaway fish and chips. The batter is nice and crispy and the chips golden brown which is how I like it. The staff are lovely, very friendly and the place is spotless. There are tables to sit in and eat if you wish. Will be using the Master Fryer for a long time yet. Visualizza piatti

The food is really nice but the service is shocking. They must do the orders in order that they receive them which is fine but when you’re waiting 30mins or more for a portion of chips it’s very frustrating. They encourage ordering on the phone at peak times and they give you a time frame and when you get there the order isn’t ready and you’re still hanging around for ages waiting for your food.

Our cod and chips were delightful. The batter was light and golden, the cod was soft and very tasty, and there was not a hint of greasy aftertaste. Lemon was even offered with the cod. The chips were fried to perfection. I had a proper cup of tea in a mug whilst I was waiting (and this was given free). The service was of the highest order. I saw good hand washing practice, and the staff were very pleasant.

Just passing through Portsmouth and looked for local fish n chips on google gluten free if possible...called to check they were open and did GF...answered quickly and very helpful all chips gf and although no battered fish available that day they had rotisserie chicken which was gf excellent value, generous portions and delicious fresh proper chip shop chips! After seeing reviews, thought we would try this Chippy after coming back late from IOW. Well we weren't disappointed. The staff did everything they could to make our visit as best it could be. Its really o takeaway but has a couple of tables. We sat down and the Fish and chips were served on proper plates with knives and forks. The food quality was excellent and my Wife , (who is lactose intolerant) had the cod without the batter and was more than happy with this . Thanks everyone at the Fryer . Great Service values and smashing Fish and Chips can still be found.

The Master Fryer catered fish, sausages, chips, curry sauce and mushy peas for our Mums celebration of life. They arrived pipping hot, with forks, salt vinegar. Everyone loved them, in fact we got so many guests, asking where they were from, as they said they were the best fish and chips they have ever tasted!! Everything was cooked to perfection and the fish was really.really tasty! We can't thank Hayley and the team enough for delivering the most amazing food. This is definitely the best fish chip shop in Hampshire. We won't buy fish chips from anywhere else now!

We have been looking for an F&C shop to have our 'fix ' before travelling to France and so glad we decided to try Master Fryer. The cod and plaice were large and perfectly cooked, batter was superb. We ordered a large chips between us, as previous experience tells us portion sizes are normally small, but this was a LARGE portion and we couldn 't actually finish them (which is very unusual for us as we have very large appetites! . To put the icing on the cake the staff could not have been any more friendly, which is so important even if the food is nice but staff not so then we would never go back.
