"My elderly mother, a friend and I had a wedding anniversary lunch at The Midland today Monday) and had a really nice time. The setting by the river Goyt is charming. Our food including Salmon and Pork plus scallops) was well presented and tasty. The service was prompt and the atmosphere relaxed. We were not hurried away after our meal and stayed chatting. I would definitely book again."

the personal was great. the starters were great. the most important courses were simply ok. drinks prices very expensive.

The staff were welcoming but the menu was underwhelming. There were very few non meat options. I chose the fish and it was very pale in colour and seemed a little undercooked

gas didn't work (last time, when we went down the poor chef a few steps and had broken his ankle) so a limited menu when we expected. the personal was beautiful and what we did was really good.

We had a lovely time. We arrived early for drinks by the fire and chatting. This was a special occasion and we really had a good time. The food was excellent and the waitresses were really friendly.

The staff were lovely but we ordered 2 fish and chips and I noticed that my friend didn’t eat her fish . The salmon was lovely and pizza good . I had fish and I thought it was ok but chips were disappointing

Excellent meal as always. Staff went out of there way to make my little girls birthday a memorable time. Huge thanks to Leanna. We love the food and every time we come in we can't fault the standard of food or service. Amazing

we always have good food and good service in the midland. the staff is so friendly and helpful. in the pub there is a beautiful ambiente. very beautiful furnishings and environment. eating was very well cooked and good quality served

We’ve just enjoyed a wonderful evening , the food was lovely and so was the staff . The Midland has a warm, welcoming feeling . The only slight let down was the Polenta cake , which was dry sorry But it didn’t spoil the experience. Thankyou Judith
