Great local pub with very good food and a nice atmosphere. The mains were on the smaller side, so expect to need some starters/sides as well.

We had a lovely experience at the restaurant during our night, dinner, and breakfast stay. Considering the price and atmosphere, it deserves a full recommendation. They offer a delightful dining challenge, going beyond just basic food, and everything we tried was quite good. The owners are genuinely nice people who are always looking for ways to improve. Overall, we felt very welcome and at ease. The service was quick, and all necessary precautions were taken. The prices were reasonable, and I must say, the Gas House is conveniently located. We truly enjoyed our stay!

DO NOT RECOMMEND. The reviews about the very slow service are no joke. Made a lunch booking for 12pm for my mum 's birthday. Arrived promptly at 12 (we were the 2nd party to be waiting outside the restaurant as they weren 't ready at 12). Fine, it happens. Was seated, got our drinks fine. Got our starters and they forgot the bread for the soup. And then we noticed it started getting busy. However, an hour and a half later we still didn 't have our mains and the tables around us who were seated after us had finished their starters and main by this point. After being seated, we quickly ordered our food and drinks, which arrived promptly. However, we ended up waiting over an hour for our starter, and just as we were about to address the issue with the staff, our main course was served. We mentioned that we hadn't received our starter and requested to cancel it. The staff member was polite and apologized for the mix-up. As for the meal, it was just average. The portion sizes were small, and my husband's dish was overly salty, which left us feeling disappointed, especially considering the prices.
