The Parsons Barn - Menu

Having escaped from a horrendous experience just around the corner we had a very pleasant evening at the Parsons Barn. Good value steaks, good service, Covid clean and orderly and a pleasant convivial Christmas atmosphere without being silly. As so often, well done Whetherspoons.

First time here. Was a little awkward as you order via the app and it’s delivered to your table. Doesn’t really allow you to customise certain things but we ordered then went to the bar to request what we needed. Service was great, the food...was lovely and very well priced. Happily visit again

Been to this Wetherspoons a few times, always found the staff to be friendly and helpful and reasonably quick given the current situation. The foods always been good with normal Wetherspoons prices. Perhaps the staff at their god-awful sister pub in Southend (The Last Post)...should pay a visit and maybe see how a pub can be run.

Food and drink is a typical Spoons so nothing to complain about. But the place is really filthy. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned since it opened. Skirting is thick with dust and the urinals in the gents are disgusting. They have very subdued lighting and it seems like that is deliberate to stop you from seeing how dirty its become

although I was in southend, there was a direct and frequent bus service from outside my accommodation to parsons barn. so it was more convenient to eat here instead of the spoons in southend. the pub is fairly quiet and always managed. to find a clean, comfortable table. no comments for food average spoons, personal friendly and helpful. pop on the 2145 bus back to southend

Went in on Thursday for breakfast...used App to order hot drinks breakfast. After waiting 10 minutes I had to go and ask for cups for the drinks. When the two traditional breakfasts were bought to our table they were just plonked down in front...of us followed by the cutlery and off they (she) walk without a word. I was left to admire my broken fried egg and spoonful of beans... This place is shameful and not a patch on the great service we get in South Street Romford .

We held a Celebration of Life get together for a local gentleman who frequented the pub as a regular. Sadly he died we thought it fitting it should be in Parson's Barn. We cannot thank the staff enough for their care, consideration friendliness, nothing was to much trouble all the staff, happy, polite, smiley helpful. We had the choice of menu to make up a table with food for everyone, large pizzas, nachos, chicken bites, chips and more, all bought out hot tasty. Thanks Parsons Barn for making a difficult visit, painless. Will come again in happier circumstances :

They refused to accept my husband 's £50 note at the bar. We don 't accept £50 notes it 's company policy he was told. Then onto the food order. My burger meal should have come with 6 onion rings but my husband was told they didn 't...have any. He asked for an alternative replacement e.g. small bowl of coleslaw, beans or extra chips, for example. Not company policy to offer alternatives he was told. You can buy 6 onion rings for £1.40, so my husband then asked for an appropriate amount to be deducted from the bill yep, you 've guessed it not company policy . Ok, so with or without onion rings, Wetherpoons generally offer good value for money but their customer service fails them miserably.

Took my daughter for something to eat, to be shouted at to do track and trace before we enter the building. I order the food and drinks which was done very promptly. We got our food very quickly which I was pleased about, but then...it just goes down hill. My daughter wanted another drink so I used the card on the table to let the staff know I was wanting to place an order, one side is green to order, the other side is red to say your don't need anything. I placed the card in full view for the staff to see, but they just stood there chatting at the bar, walking past, even got eye contact from a server to still be ignored.
