"Staying here for a couple of days old building so creaky floors. We have the 1 en suite room. The other 3 rooms have a shared loo and shower. No food only breakfast which is really good. Joff is a great manager and very amenable. If you want luxury accommodation this isn't for you, but if you like comfy bed and a good breakfast and aren't worried about a bit of mould here and there you like it here"

Excellent beer but pub has lost much of its atmosphere as no longer doing food, which was excellent and reasonably priced.

The restaurant is currently not serving food. This charming old-fashioned pub offers four types of ales on tap and a lovely outdoor seating area. It is also reasonably priced.

Lovely friendly pub in just the best location. Family friendly, comfortable and authentic. Great staff and could spend hours relaxing with a pint and bag of pork scratchings. UTFT!

Stayed here for two nights, really enjoyed our visit. The rooms are cosy, we had the en-suite room and the bathroom was modern. I can highly recommend for a stay in Dent.Rooms: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Location: 5/5 …More

This restaurant offers a great selection of high-quality beers, although they can be a bit on the expensive side. Unfortunately, they no longer serve food here. The only other pub in the village requires advance booking.

A fabulous traditional pub with a wonderful welcoming open fire to enjoy on a cold November afternoon. Delicious pub grub served by very friendly staff enjoyed by adults and kids alike. Highly recommend we will be back with our darts next time!

"Staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. They were also very kind to our dog. We had drinks and food and though the drinks were good, the food was not. The words 'frozen ' and 'microwave ' were forefront in my mind throughout. The mash potato I had with my pie was face meltingly hot suggesting the microwave was used, and my wife 's battered fish was mushy and watery suggesting it was deep fried from frozen. The batter was also only about 1mm thick and was like wise mushy. The meat in my chunky steak pie was definatly chunky but was a little too firm (not tough, just not tender. Probably the wrong cut of meat rather than badly cooked). I then had the caramel apple pie as did another member of my party. While his was hot, mine was cold. I had mine with cream which when it arrived, had bubbles in and was luke warm. What I think happened was that mine was microwaved first and then drowned in cream and left to sit while the other was microwaved. This mean mine cooled in the cream while the cream warmed. It also meant that the pastry on the bottom went soggy, and from the rest of the pastry, it didn 't seem like it had much crisp to begin with. Now I know that times are hard and pubs like this can 't be expected to make everything from scratch, but there are 3 other pubs close by and unfortunately this one is doing nothing to stand out from the others, in terms of food anyway. Overall, a nice place for a quiet drink, but I 'll not be back for the food. The only saving grace was the price; £80 for 2 rounds of drinks (1 pint, 1 coke and 2 halves per round), 4 mains and 2 desserts...I suppose you get that you pay for though..."
