Nice food, a little on the dear side, but not too bad! View over water was nice. Nice local brewed ale was on when I went.

We had a meal here whilst on holiday this year. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent and good value.

Spotlessly clean and wonderfully comfortable. All of the staff were very friendly and made us feel at home.Food was excellent. Do try the haggis! The morning kipper was great and the fry up was excellent too.

We had never eaten at the Sands Hotel, but recently stopped by for a Sunday lunch. The inside of the hotel and restaurant is as nice as any in Orkney, and the food was excellent as was the service. We'll definitely return again!

We live locally and have often had lovely meals here (when the previous owners were in charge). Having seen the good reviews we decided to take two friends out for dinner what a mistake! On arrival we had to wait for the 3 waiting...

This homey and comfortable hotel on the Burray waterfront is ideal. The food cannot be beat, the rooms well appointed and comfortable, and the best staff encountered in a long time. When we come to the Orkneys, we will not stay anywhere else.

The Sands Hotel, Burray, Orkney is about 20 minutes drive from Kirkwall and across the bay, about 10 minutes drive, from St Margaret's Hope, where the Pentland ferries come in from Gills Bay. We ate at The Sands on two nights of our three nights...

Quaint,quiet, charming and a great view. The food was wonderful. Had a wonderful lunch with friends while driving out to see the chapel. Thank goodness they had a sign on the turn or we never would have known it was there. Definitely worth a stop...

I dined here as part of a group booking. We received an extremely warm welcome from our waiting staff. Our waitresses were attentive to our needs and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious. There was a little delay in receiving our dessert...
