"The Restaurant Kleinhuis gave us an amazing experience. We hade a voucher via another Site but we did something wrong when using it. As we recognised this during our stay we nervously asked whether this would be a problem. It wasn't! The manager came, promised to check if they can accept it not minding our mistake and soon told us, that it wouldn't be a problem. But this isn't the main reason for my perfect view on Kleinhuis Restaurant! The service was perfect the whole evening! There was not a single flaw in how we've been treated. High class service leaving no possible complaint. When we've been there, there weren't many other guests due to german holidays, so they could focus on giving the few guests an astonishing evening! Also the food was amazing. It's a little pricey there but the food definitely makes up to it. We also had two bottles of wine. When we asked for a recommendation, we weren't told to have an expensive one, no, they told us, that a certain wine for 12€/bottle would fit our menu perfectly and so it was. I have never ever been so satisfied with a restaurant visit as in Kleinhuis Restaurant, thats why my recommendation here is so very positive! Go there and enjoy!"

Hotel restaurant (Hotel Baseler Hof) definitely worth a try. Attentive and efficient service, tasteful and original food. You feel right at home. Will return.

the var bestilt en 3-retters menu med tilhørende vine, alt var virkelig perfect.Personalet var virkelig gode til at fortælle om retterne og vinen, kan cleart anbefales, ikke nødvendigt at forlade hotellet for at spise.

the smallhuis bistro in the souterrain and weinhandel is always worth a visit because of its excellent wine selection with the appropriate dressing and if the wine has tasted particularly well, you can buy it directly for home.

We where looking for a restaurant that would seat adult and Babies.. and had a hard time, the we found this restaurant and man where we pleasant surprised.. The waiters where fresh and very help full, the food was REALLY good, small dishes..., I would say slightly modern version of traditional German food, in a good way! Can highly recommend it.. I for what you get very reasonable priced..

the restaurant is part of Hotel Baseler Hof but since it is in the back of the building and accessible through a different entrance you are shielded from the business of the hotel. The food is exquisite, great choices for the different tastes of our...group of family and friends and the service was out of this world in terms of friendliness, competence and patients with four tired children. The breakfast here was very good with a great range of meats, cheeses, fruits, yoghurts, jams, breads, pastries etc. (multiple options of each). The only problem encountered, was (unlike the reception team in the hotel) that the waiters and waiters were silent. They seemed scared...(or didn't want to talk). Even when spoken to, they would nod back. The only employee who seemed to speak was the chef topping up the buffet. Lucky I was here to eat, rather than talk! Recommend breakfast here (every day).

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
