"What a wonderful Saturday night we had, dining in The Waterfront we were hosted by Gabriel, cooked for by Pawel and felt like long lost family members being welcomed back home…despite this being our first visit! I grew up eating Polish Pancakes, and was amazed to find such authentic Polish food on Bute…both the beef goulash and the vegetarian version were delicious, as was the homemade sauerkraut it was served with. The crème de la crème were the placki (Polish Potato Pancakes) I was transported back to my childhood. We shared the pierogi as a starter and found them to be excellent. What makes this restaurant stand out is the warmth of Gabriel he made every single person in The Waterfront feel like they were sitting in his home, and dining with good friends. At times the whole restaurant were laughing together as they ate Pawel’s authentic and super tasty Polish food. Superb!"

"a good meal. for the first time it was extremely fat and tasted like old oil. the meat was hard and not delicious. we thought we would try again, but the second time was worse. Vegetable spring rolls drip with oil, full cabbage and meat! pork heavy and chew to eat. noodles worse than pot noodles, dry, stringy and no taste. bon sprouts that were not properly cooked can also have been raw and said the menu was wrong and did not match the, so could not order what they wanted anyway. one of the worst outliers in Britain. much better on bute."

"Booked a table for Saturday September for and was advised we would have to vacate the table at which we were happy to agree with. We arrived promptly at shown to our table there were only a couple of other tables...occupied again we were advised we had to vacate the table at We placed our order one starter to share and our main courses not too long a wait for them to be served. At a young gentleman approached our table and advised us we had to vacate the table by we explained we had been told twice and at this point he started to argue with us said he had a piece of paper that stated the table had to be vacated at we asked him to speak to the lady who had seated us he told us she had left. He then told us walk in’s off the street were told a time we advised we had booked the day before and had been given a time he then told us we had a bad attitude and then brought a piece of paper showing the time of We had planned to order a dessert instead we finished our drinks and left at When we left the place was nearly empty so where was the great need for us to vacate the table. The food was OK but the serving staff need training in how to talk to customers suffice to say will not be returning to this establishment.."

"Tim Saul and his wife run this fantastic little restaurant/music shop/bar in Rothesay. The food is good and unpretentious and the all day breakfast is unbeatable. The ambience is very relaxed with visitors and locals alike engaging in lively banter whilst aspiring and established musicians can sample the musical instruments available for purchase. In the short period we were there for lunch Tim sold 2 mandolins and a bodhran while serving meals and drinks and chatting with all and sundry. We could have stayed all day drinking coffee and just hanging out but we had a ferry to catch."
