This is one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants I've ever visited in Britain. The food is excellent, and the service is friendly. The chef, who is also the owner, prepares beautiful traditional Japanese dishes!

Amazing, authentic Japanese restaurant with a wide variety of delicious dishes from sushi to hot pot. The best part is their inspiring owner and chef, Akemi. This is my favorite restaurant in London. It's a true gem that the locals adore, yet it's easily accessible and well worth the trip from anywhere in the city. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The owner and chef have done an outstanding job creating a welcoming space. I'm a regular here and have sampled many dishes from the extensive lunch menu over the years, and I've never been disappointed. I just left from lunch and can’t wait for my next visit!

my first cousin once removed and I visited this restaurant this afternoon after being turned off from another Japanese restaurant close to us and the ancestors must smile at us to arrange it: an absolutely exquisite environment, friendly staff, delicious eating beautifully presented: I can not recommend zen mondo very much. an all-round experience of the first class in a deceptively modest operation. the chef/owner is also a ceramic artist who not only tastes the tables, but is also available for sale. the handling of this work improves the entire experience: beautiful!

Akemi herself oversees all the cooking, ensuring high standards and consistency. I realized that my first review was over 10 years ago, which is a testament to the quality of this place. The menu has been reduced, indicating that the food is prepared fresh. They have a large selection of sake, which I appreciate as someone who is sensitive to alcohol but never experiences headaches with sake.
