"We recently had afternoon tea at this restaurant and it was truly exceptional. The service was top-notch and the food and drinks were amazing. My family thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This was my first visit but I would definitely come back in the future. I highly recommend this place, as the tearoom is charming and offers a great view of the clock tower. Give it a try, like I did, and I'm confident you will have a wonderful time. The staff, though young, were very friendly and hospitable."

"The restaurant was cold and so was the plate. Previously, the dish was nicely presented with vegetables on the side and a full plate. However, on this occasion, it consisted of small slices of beef that seemed to come from a catering pack, as they were all the same size. The carrots were hard, Brussels sprouts were substituted for the usual broccoli, and there was no Yorkshire pudding available as they had run out. With a cup of tea for one and an alcohol-free beer, the total came to £40, with a hefty service charge added on top. Although the charge could have been removed, we felt hesitant to ask as it may have appeared stingy. As longtime regular customers, we have been disappointed with our last two visits and have decided not to return."

"There was a charity pub crawl on the day we visited. Lots of the people were leaving when we arrived. The lady who served me was using plastic instead of glasses, I asked her for glasses as we were sitting inside.she refused, despite locals sat at the end of the bar had been served their drinks in glasses. Completely Out of order. We did stay for another drink but my son went to the bar this time, and again she wasn't going to serve our drinks in glasses but my son insisted. We got our glasses. Not the way to treat your customers Service: 2"

"Went here before the theatre as a fabulous burger place had moved we tried here. Had booked and arrived before time and entered and just stood whilst the older lady behind the bar barked at the younger server. I don 't expect immediate service, but a 'won 't be a minute ' is usually expected. Ordered food and it was mediocre at best. Dirty fries as a side far better than the food. Never asked once if we were happy with our meal. Which I thought was rude. In any event, didn 't have time to go elsewhere due to theatre timings. Overall, felt like we were a burden to staff, heard her being rude to a couple as they started to order food and she told them this was for a drink order. Wow! Never felt welcome, food as stated mediocre, wouldn 't return. Could be a nice little place with better staff and nicer food."

"Visited today for lunch after walking to the Pike and around the Japanese Gardens. Sat outside (bit chilly bit without coats we were happy). Lovely menu options and reasonable prices. The staff were as friendly as always you're always met with a smile and pleasant conversation. We ordered a pot of tea, a flat white, a chicken salad sandwich with a mug of soup and sweetcorn fritters with salmon. It was delicious and the portions are a good size. Lovely place and we will continue to return."

"We always enjoy getting takeout on Christmas Eve, and this year we decided to order from Loy Kee. We have been ordering meals from Loy Kee for many years and have never been let down. Despite the slightly longer waiting time, which was understandable given it was Christmas Eve, we were very pleased. We ordered spring rolls, duck pancakes, and chow mein, all of which were delicious. The food was fantastic and the prices were reasonable."

"Came with friends for Afternoon Tea, service a little slow but staff were attentive (Stables just changed. ownership so will put it down to teething problems and the waitress having to check about GF choices. They do offer certain GF items but choice was limited as we did not book in advance to let them know of a dietary restriction. Food was freshly made i appreciated the warm scones and a choice of plain, sultana or blueberry scone. Plenty of cream and homemade preserves to top your scone. Little pots of mustard/relish to add to your sandwich fillings was well received as one of our party dislikes mustard and another is allergic to onions so they were happy to have the choice not just choose a different sandwich. We had ham cheddar. Roast Beef, tuna cucumber and cream cheese with smoked salmon choice of bread and a GF option for one of our party. The choice of drinks was extensive, Fitzpatricks cordials was a real bonus. Will return and definitely phone ahead so the owner can accommodate GF friend with more choice. Great little spot book 1 st to ensure they can accommodate you."

"Arrived on Mothers Day for lunch, the place was fairly quiet. We sat down and ordered a mains each. The rest of our party arrived 15 minutes later and ordered 4 starters as they were eating light. After waiting for 45 minutes we questioned the staff as to when our meals would be coming. Ten minutes later the 4 starters arrived for the table despite being ordered 15 minutes later than our meal. We questioned again and we’re offered some free drinks which we didn’t need, so refused. We were told that they were plating ours. Ours finally arrived 20 minutes later, 70 minutes after ordering. They were placed down and the manager I believe, simply walked off. I thought she might clear the other 4 empty plates, considering they’d all left to go to the football but no we were expected to eat our meal staring at those. Interestingly no one came back to check on the quality of the food for any of the meals. If they had we would of let them know the gravy for the roast dinner was stone cold, the mash potato was like a firm dough ball the vegetables bland and the cauliflower cheese was the worst I’d ever seen. It resembled a puddle of sick on the side of the plate, I paid extra for the privilege. An orange mess of melted cheddar cheese with a couple of pieces of cauliflower. All in all a disgraceful experience. Our first and last visit to this dire eatery. Train your staff on how to provide a decent standard of service, better communication with the kitchen and ask your customer what they would like you to do in the event of the above. Nothing short of a refund would of been acceptable. As we were now late to leave for an event I didn’t have the time to force the issue having already paid."

"Sundays? Well worth the trip. I ate there last sunday, and i've never seen the place so busy, but also so vibrant. This is however only the 6th time I have visited. We were offered drinks in the bar and then the manager provided us with a full menu and a sunday lunch menu, there was more to chose from than I can even remember, but finally we decided and placed our order. After probably waiting for 15 minutes we were taken to our table for our starters and soon after we had our mains, I had steak, my wife had a beef dinner. We were offered desserts but had to decline, far too full for that In total, we spent just over 2 hours there and a little under £50, but it was definitely worth...read more"

"We were a party of 8 the food was good, but 1 meal came out we waited a while before we said anything, so I asked the young server where the rest of the meals where ? She asked in the kitchen side it would be 5 mins, so 1 more meal came out we waited again, by the time the rest of the food came out in dribs drabs) the first person had finished their meal, to be fair they did offer us a free desert, but not good, I'd rather wait a little longer have all the food come out at the same time.. like I said the food was good."

"We visited this restaurant for the first time today, and we were not disappointed! The food was cooked to perfection, the service was fast, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was cozy, and the entire place was impeccably clean. Plus, there is convenient parking and a wheelchair-accessible entrance. The Christmas decorations looked fantastic as well! This restaurant is a testament to a great team. Don’t hesitate to visit; there’s a wide selection of food and drinks on the menu at very reasonable prices! We will definitely be back! The hours are from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM during the week and from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM on weekends."

"The risotto far too dry and when asked to provide some extra sauce to loosen it by the time they brought it the meal was cold the pie my husband had was far too watery, the flavour was good but it was like a soup. The manager of the bar also agreed. When she asked for feedback we politely told her what we thought, she apologised and said she would feed it back to the chef. That’s great for the next customers if they fix it but not for us, we were left very disappointed. Not a offer of an other other dish/dessert/drink to make up for the poor meal so we will definitely not return for food again."

"This place is a little hidden gem for those looking for great tasting healthier food. Limited parking outside, so you may need park up and walk over. They offer take away and this is a busy take away restaurant. A big queue throughout while we were there. They offer a loyalty card for customers wishing to return. I know at least a dozen people who have eaten here and all of them have recommended we try the food here. We decided to eat here after a training session at the gym, with the menu being fairly clean and being able to see the macros. Very few places offer this level of breakdown. We had the burritos, with home made salsa. It's got a little kick and God it's moreish. Fresh ground coffee, that food we stayed for an extra coffee after breakfast. Price wise I'd say it is average in price"

"at the arrival was the greeting more of a interrogation so, did they book señor? we had booked and patiently waited while we float in the bar area. we were then interviewed by two other employees at different times to ask if we have booked while we were left behind. Finally we sat and placed our beverage order with the loudly transmitted male. we waited and waited while two other employees came to different times to ask if we wanted to order drinks? it does not seem that there are any organization that includes tables, among which workers. rather chaotic with the loud male screaming to younger employees, which is an unpleasant culinary experience. the restaurant was busy and extremely loud. they put families with young children and screaming babies in the midst of couples and people who hope for a nice chilled evening. there is no rim or reason to her restaurant layout that does not create any pleasant experience at all. they could use the shape of the room to create a family area and then quieter sections, but it is free for all. we sat the next table with 2 young children who cried and walk in intervals during our meal. Adds the extremely loud white noise in the restaurant and they can forget to chat with their partner through dinner. the actual eating was so disappointing. the rossini garlic bread was the only beautiful. we ordered garlic breadcrumbs that was so blanching. the tomato sauce was economical and again very bland. the sweet is also missing seriously in any flavor or taste. it doesn't matter to pay for a real Italian food, but that was certainly not that. In no authentic taste we felt extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. we haven't bothered ourselves with desserts or coffee, because we couldn't wait to get out of there. this restaurant has been in the village for many years and is very happy to be placed centrally without local competition. it does not seem to have changed its menu or it is eating experience as it seems open! it is like a trip back to the 80s with the loud intrusive Italian men who order the young waiters around and then push an oversized black pfeffer mill in your face! there is no rhymes here, as the older male staff has no charm or warmth. they look at them and should not tip them (what we did) they get a very dirty look and an elevated hand out call good evening said senoir in abrupt and louder wise that they feel extremely unpleasant. never again!"

"This restaurant is a traditional pub with a restaurant section. They offer a wide variety of dishes on their extensive menu, as well as a small bites menu and at least 15 specials posted on the wall. My companion and I decided to order from the main menu and selected the lasagne and a mixed grill. Although we had to wait a bit, the wait was worth it as our food arrived piping hot on warm plates and freshly cooked. The portion sizes were also very generous. Both dishes were delicious. The woman who served us managed both the bar and restaurant and worked tirelessly to ensure everyone was taken care of. She was cheerful and helpful throughout our meal. I would definitely recommend this place! XX"
