"We visit this cafe regularly and are never disappointed. The specials menu changes daily and they serve the most amazing pasta's. Anything served with a salad is a good choice. The salad may have 6 different elements such as potato salad, couscous and the best curried chickpeas ever! Don't miss desserts, yesterdays choice included sticky gingerbread with caramelised pears and a honeycomb ice cream, just delicious. They always offer the meringue with fruit which is beautiful and a very generous size. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is relaxed, service is efficient and nothing too much trouble. We will be back next week."

"We regularly go here for carvery but it’s not as good as once was. Meat portions have gone smaller and poorer quality. The roast potatoes are awful and today’s mash was wet, sloppy and tasteless. The front of house staff have all changed and the bar staff who served me today seemed to see me as an inconvenience to their chatting. The whole place was much quieter than usual as well. Things need to improve."

"The restaurant has a very rude staff member named Linda who should not be dealing with the public. Tables were full of dirty plates and glasses, and when asked for them to be cleaned, Linda responded rudely that she was too busy and couldn't do everything on a Tuesday. We ended up cleaning our own table with wet wipes and ordered our food through the app. Unfortunately, the food arrived stone cold with no apology. Despite asking for the manager, they never came near. This pub was a complete embarrassment."

"what can I say about the malthouse farm, this is the second time that I myself and my man stayed in the hotel and used the pub for meal and drinks. the staff is friendly and helpful, there is a lot of choice for eating, which will eat to perfection and abundantly cooked. the selection of drinks is also very diverse. the outside area is clean and very nice. many thanks once again for a nice weekend that is spent with them, we will be back."

"I have found them on deliveroo. My favourite takeaway change owners so I was looking for some good replacement. Tried quite a few in recent months but this one is definitely the best. I've ordered just 2 from here. Everything was nice and fresh. Large portions. Easy to talk to on the phone. In the first order it took 5 to 10 minutes before I've managed to get trough a constantly busy line. 2nd time they answered straight away. I also thought that salt and pepper chips were a bit different 2nd time around. Still good though. Compared to Eccles takeaway the prawn crackers bag is tiny bit smaller I have truly enjoyed the complimentary spring rolls with my first order! I generally don't like spring rolls, so here you go. With 2nd order got salt and pepper wings that were just OK, a bit too much oil. The price is a bit higher and the waiting time was 90 minutes. I don't mind the price but waiting time"

"The cafe gets a lot of negative reviews which to some extent I understand. We had coffee and a bacon roll here this morning and, whilst the place could improve it’s by no means bad the coffee and food we had was in fact very good and the service friendly. The COVID 19 procedures result in slow movement through the queue especially if customers don’t have the app; that said a simple organisational change could improve things, there simply aren’t sufficient staff to cook, take orders, deliver food and clear& clean tables it wasn’t busy when we were there but delays could build up up especially when staff tried to process a discount vouchers in part payment..... if your going to promote the cafe make sure staff understand the process."

"Don’t bother. Certainly don’t bother calling on the phone. Three times now in separate weeks at separate times the phone gets picked up and they simply put it down without even speaking. Very rude and ignorant and not a way to run a business as some day you may not be as popular and busy, or at least that’s what I am assuming! Manners cost nothing. You can’t order via online so other driving there you have to call the shop, so as this is the biggest part of your only contact with orders and the public then get your ship in order and have some manners. Your pizzas are not that special. Terrible service."

"Being gluten free can be extremely difficult, so I appreciate restaurants and cafes that offer gluten free options or indicate them on the menu. I always order a bacon sandwich on gluten-free bread at this particular restaurant, and it is the best gluten free bread I have ever tried. Even those who do not follow a gluten-free diet should give it a try - it is fantastic! The staff are also very friendly, making for a pleasant dining experience. Overall, this restaurant is a hidden gem. I highly recommend trying their pizzas, hearty sandwiches, platters, and drinks, especially when sitting outside on a sunny day. I give this restaurant a 5-star rating all the way."

"On Thursday night, we discovered that they had run out of draft lager. There was no alcohol-free beer available, despite it being listed on the menu. Our party of seven was the only group present, which was surprising given that this was the last Thursday before December – we thought the holiday season would have brought in more customers. The room was quite cold, and even the chef was wearing a coat! The pizzas weren't served warm, and the pork loin was very dry. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. To the owner: yes, you did have draft lager, but after we ordered five pints, you had run out and could only offer bottled beer. This is quite disappointing for a Thursday night leading up to Christmas."

"Had a lovely lunch at Cafe Ambio today sitting outside in the sun . I'd like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the staff for helping me. I was concerned when my meal would be arriving due to me being a diabetic and my sugar level was going low. The guy who gave me the full sugar cola (which I didn't need in the end) to help me was a star. Thank you again. Lovely staff, great food, relaxing atmosphere."

"This restaurant is fantastic! The food is outstanding and reasonably priced. We received great service throughout our meal, and the ambiance is very pleasant. The only downside was a large group of noisy children, which slightly detracted from the atmosphere, but that can happen anywhere. I've dined in and also ordered takeout, and the quality of the food has consistently been excellent. It's definitely worth a visit—you won't be disappointed. I will definitely be coming back! Service: Dine in."

"Rude staff. After waiting 40 minutes for food that I was told would be brought outside to the benches as it was for everyone else still hadn’t arrived. So I mentioned to the lady at the till to follow it up, she apologised and said things had been mixed up and it had been prepared as an inside order, she would chase it up. 10 minutes later a gentleman rudely slammed my panni down on the side “there it is” I said oh I’m really sorry I ordered chips too. He said “there it is” I said my order had chips also. He proceeded to shout at me telling me my order had been shouted four times. Well sitting outside I’m not sure I would have heard it being shouted, I was told it would be brought out to me. He again proceeded to shout “no, no that’s not right”… I witnessed 5 others have food delivered outside, not sure why mine was different and when it finally arrived the order was wrong and rudely delivered!! I asked for a full refund and left the shop. Shocking, shocking service. Customers in the que commented on how rude and disgusting the behaviour was that they witnessed. Definitely won’t be returning, pop up the road to the garden centre one and avoid at all costs."

"Located inside the Old Corn Mill Antiques Centre, the Vintage Tea Room is spotlessly clean, but has a simple and plain aesthetic that is reminiscent of a cafeteria. The presentation of the food could use some refinement. Our bacon sandwiches were generously filled with delicious and perfectly cooked bacon, though the bread slices were a bit thick for our liking. Despite being fresh and tasty, the bread overpowered the filling. We had to ask for a paper napkin and cutlery and sauces were offered only upon request. It was somewhat unappealing to see the chef, dressed in casual clothes, casually walking around outside with a tea towel over his shoulder. The staff members were friendly and helpful, the menu was diverse and interesting for a small establishment, and we believe that other dishes would be as well-prepared and flavorful as our bacon sandwiches. Paying a bit more attention to detail would greatly enhance the overall experience. The coffee was also quite good."

"Ordered food via Uber Eats as there was a promo going on. Keep trying different Chinese restaurants in the hope that i would find the Indo-chinese taste that we get back in India. I ordered the veg fried rice and the vegetables in schezuan sauce. Some fries as well. The portion size of the rice and the fries was huge, will last for more than one meal for 2 people. The taste was good and i would order again. Quite similar to the Indo-Chinese food."

"My wife and I were fortunate enough to spend an afternoon and evening at The Lord Nelson after travelling down from the Lake District. The building is over 350 years old and has so much character. The pub is so welcoming and there is a...wonderful family atmosphere with dogs particularly welcome. We enjoyed an amazing Sunday lunch of perfectly cooked roast beef, rich buttery mashed potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and fresh vegetables, covered by a rich gravy. It was the best Sunday roast I can remember. Later in the early evening we were able to share a drink and chat with Harry, the exec chef and Sasha who effortlessly manages the bar and front of house. We also shared one of Harry’s fantastic garlic bread pizzas with masses of mozzarella. What a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon and evening. Thank you Harry and Sasha for a wonderful time and we will definitely try and visit again when we are in the area."

"Visited here a few times and everytime has been amazing, never disappointed with the service or the food. The staff are very friendly and ensured our visits where always enjoyable and the food is always served hot and fresh with gorgeous flavours and great value for money. My steak was cooked to perfection and the garlic prawns with the bread are lovely. Even took my niece here for a family meal and the chef happily accommodated for her to also eat with us and she throughly enjoyed it too! The staff are Very child friendly! I highly recommend this little tapas! Perfect for a nice lunch or a great meet up with friends on a Saturday night with an amazing guitarist to listen to in the background which made the atmosphere even more like we were in Spain! Will definitely be returning very soon! Thankyou"

"I visited this restaurant with friends for the first time in a couple of years on a Wednesday evening. The staff were friendly and the newly refurbished soft furnishings blended in nicely. We took advantage of the 3 courses for £10 offer, which we found to be incredibly good value. The portions were generous and the quality of the food was impressive. It's hard to believe they can maintain this offer at such a low price! The only issue we had was with the background music, which we found to be intrusive and tinny, not matching the cozy atmosphere of the old inn."

"I made a reservation, but had to remind the staff to mark us as present because I received a message from Open Table saying we were late. We had special steak vouchers, but were disappointed to find that only small steaks were available with no offer to make up for it. The salad bar was empty and we had to ask for it to be replenished, as well as for side plates for the bread rolls – we're still waiting! This visit was not good, they need to improve and the supervisory/management attitude was terrible. As regular customers who usually rate this restaurant highly, we were disappointed with our experience."

"The staff at the restaurant were excellent and attentive, but unfortunately, the food and drinks were very disappointing. The drinks tasted like cleaning fluid and the starter had to be sent back because it was cold. The mains were no better, with cold chips, corn that tasted like wet cardboard, and tasteless chicken. It was a disappointing experience and will be my first and last visit to this restaurant."
