"We visited this restaurant on our first night in the Cotswolds, and honestly, it was not our first choice. However, it turned out to be excellent! We couldn't stop talking about it during our entire trip. The wait staff were so helpful, and the menu was extensive. Everything we tried, from the curry to the loaded fries, was excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant. Our whole family would definitely make it our first stop in this town with limited restaurant choices. I regret not taking a photo, but the meal was great! The dessert was also amazing! Bravo, 5+ stars!"

"We had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant on Saturday evening. Jan, who worked at the front of the house, was outstanding - friendly and attentive. The man who warmly greeted us with a big smile and served our food was also very welcoming. The food was delicious and served promptly despite the busy evening. We were impressed by the attention to detail, from the cutlery and glassware to the fancy carafe and decor - all seemed to have been chosen with care. Overall, we loved it! Service: Excellent, Meal Type: Dinner, Price range: £30-£40 per person, Food: 5 stars, Service: 5 stars, Atmosphere: 5 stars."

"We received a warm welcome from the friendly staff when we arrived at the restaurant. They effortlessly accommodated our group of five and made us feel at home on a busy day. We ordered tea and scones, which were served with fresh clotted cream and jam, and were absolutely delicious. The chocolate milkshakes were also top-notch. We left the restaurant as happy customers, especially considering the reasonable pricing compared to other places we had looked at. The cafe, though just off the Main Street, offered a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. If we ever return, we would definitely revisit this establishment due to the fantastic service and experience we had. Five stars from us - thank you!"

"We’d invited friends, who’d never been to this restaurant (or theatre), to join us for a meal before the performance. We arrived early for our reservation, which was at 5.45pm. We ordered ‘nibbles’ instead of starters and even these took a long time to come. However, our main courses didn’t arrive until nearly 7.10pm! Every time we chased them up (from 6.30 onwards) we were told “they’re just coming”. No explanation was ever given for the delay, and the bill was just put on the table very shortly after the food. The food itself was good, but in order to get into the theatre on time we really had to bolt it down, and we couldn’t even finish, let alone have a dessert or coffee. Horribly rushed and horribly embarrassing to have invited friends to this shambles. We were not alone other tables were also waiting and rushing. Unacceptable for a restaurant which offers a pre theatre meal."

"I have stayed in many hotels over the years, but this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. To get to our room, we had to walk around the back of the pub near the kitchen and step over a dirty kitchen water channel. The room was very small and lacked basic amenities like a bin. Despite these issues, we decided to eat at the pub downstairs (although we found the food to be overpriced for tiny portions). However, the problems escalated when we realized that the walls and floors did not block out noise well, and we could hear loud music from the pub all night. Even after the pub closed, the music continued to get louder. Around midnight, we asked the staff to lower the volume, only to find them having a party with loud music and joints. They briefly turned the music off, but it soon started again. In the middle of the night, water started pouring through the fire alarm directly onto our bed. It turned out to be dirty shower water from a staff room above. After complaining to a staff member (who appeared to be heavily intoxicated), we were moved to a spare room that was also dirty and covered in hair and dirt. We considered leaving, but decided to stay the night despite the discomfort. The next morning, we cancelled our reservation for the following night and requested a refund, which we received without any additional compensation. Overall, it was a terrible hotel experience that I will never forget."

"We have dined at this restaurant multiple times over the years hoping for improvement, but we will not be returning. I am baffled by the praise that Malt Anchor receives. The fish portions are small and the batter is average at best. Even when opting for a pricier loin option, the quality is still lacking and comes at a steep price. The chips are below par and the overall experience is disappointing. It seems that those leaving positive reviews may not have a strong understanding of what truly good fish and chips should be. I recommend trying establishments like Magpie in Yorkshire, Seafarers in Lytham, Squires in Devon, or many others I have tried over the years for a taste of proper fish and chips. Don't be swayed by the popular opinion, consider other options for a better dining experience."

"Having followed the new landlords from their previos pub; we were not dissappointed and found the same qualities in both front of house nad back of house that we had come to expect from them. The prices are not cheap for pub grub , but then Roger does not serve you pub grub. Emmie in front of house was attentive and spent time talking to her customers creating a relaxed atmosphere. Well worth the 30 mile round trip; we will be back"

"the swan is a quintessential country pub/hotel in a picture postcard village. the interior is stunning with original features, complemented by modern art work and fittings. the food is the star of the show with beautifully presented incredibly tasteful house produced vegetables, eggs and meat from their local farm in the village. a 3-course and a 2-course menu with a prosecco and local real ale at the arrival and house cocktail during the meal with coffee for a very reasonable £70. a real pleasure and a perfect small garden for it. bravo to the cook and the attentive, really friendly staff that made our visit so unforgettable!"

"Gave order. While waiting a man went to complain about the poultry amount of cream with his cream tea. Staff said they’ve never had a complaint about it before. The owner offered more cream which he accepted. When he was back at his table the staff started rolling their eyes , laughing and one of them held their little finger up and made a gesture with it. In the meantime we were still waiting for our coffee and scone and canned drink. I went to staff and said I wanted a refund as I was still waiting. She looked at receipt and said you’ve only been waiting 9 minutes! My order was only one coffee, one scone and a canned drink. This was hardly a big cooking job. They had a further complaint as I was leaving another customer wanted to know why he hadn’t had his order."

"Lovely ambience,Excellent food and service 10/10 So good we ate both nights here while we were in our hotel at chipping Camden. Before we had even eaten or seen our food on the Monday evening ,we had booked a table for the next evening ….it is a beautiful place ,a real gem . The menu isn’t huge but certainly plenty of choice and portions are good. The staff are attentive and also not pestering you all the while . There is outside dining as well . I think this place should be extended ,as you are best to book as so popular.we fell lucky the first night . There are about 8seating areas indoors ,so very popular . Next time we will just go here to eat as it’s just so clean and lovely ,the food I’ve never had such a fantastic mousakka as I did here …and we’ve been to Greece 17 times .This was just gorgeous. I also like how the chefs are cooking and you can see into the kitchen ..BUT this means you know they are clean and good as they are not afraid for customers to see them preparing . Please give this place a try it really is a gem"

The sandwich boards etc. were outside advertising lunch was available but all the doors were locked and we could not get in so we returned to our car and phoned them only to be greeted by a message saying no-one was available. I understand that in the best run of businesses emergencies warranting closure can occur but even a hastily written note pinned to the door to let the clientele know would have been better than nothing. We waited for a while in the car park and phoned again but on getting the same response we moved on to lunch elsewhere."

"Omg the food was AMAZING brought my mom and niece and we was just two minutes before Kitchen was going to close I called them and they said just quickly come inside an order. They could tell that we were not from Loco and continued to come and ask us if we were okay if we needed anything, and to be honest, I’m pinning this location in my phone and we’ll definitely return. "This cafe is situated at the back of the Corn Hall Market, which is off the main shopping street. It can get very busy, this was the first time we were able to get a table as it is very popular with locals and visitors alike. We had peppermint tea, although there was a wide range of drinks available as well as cakes, sandwiches etc. the table next to us had very appetising bacon sandwiches. It’s accessible to prams and wheelchairs. Order at the counter and it’s brought to your table. Toilets are downstairs."

"I rung up to order for collection and was greeted by someone who has seemingly never communicated over the phone before. Here is how the conversation went: Hello Hi. Can I order ahead please? What? Can I order ahead please? WHAT? Can you hear me? Yes I said can I order ahead please *Hangs up* It seems that they thought that I was prank calling them and wanted to order a head. I struggle to believe that no one has ever done this before. When we did manage to order and went to collect, they had missed part of our order and got part of it wrong we realised this once we got home, 15 minutes away, so not worth returning. There is no point being able to order over the phone if you can 't get the orders right."

"We were staying locally and came here for dinner one Saturday night. The building is very pretty and the walls are adorned with its culture and local history. The bar area was very busy with people having pre-dinner drinks and the restaurant did not have many tables free. I would advise booking. They cater for diners with dogs in the bar area. We ordered the goats cheese and ham hock to start and the haddock and burger for our mains. They were all delicious and well cooked. Not a crumb was left. A gentleman on the table next to us returned his steak to the Kitchen as it was not cooked as he'd asked. It was dealt with efficiently and quickly without question. The staff were polite, professional, attentive and friendly. Noteworthy details: Please book a table as it gets very busy. The rear car park/entrance could do with some more lighting."

"This is rather overdue as I promised the Plough I would write them a glowing review after an excellent meal a few weeks ago. The pub has been transformed into rather up market food but in a very relaxed manner. We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress thereafter taken care of by Harrison, who through out made sure we were happy with our food and wine. The food was excellent, the owners I think use a lot of smokery with the cooking of their food. We both had the pork ribs that were smoked to perfection, probably the best ribs I've ever had, the portion of rib was two big ones, I had to take one of mine with me. It was served with light veg and salad making it not too heavy. If you're not in Cirencester it is easy to get to and easy parking, well worth the drive to find it, it's only a mile or less from the town centre. Will be back very soon."

"Went to this pub during summer with my friends. Mind you we are a group of 6 'colored ' people of different shades and ethnicities, and probably the only ones as such at the time we went. When we came in, we were completely ignored, not even a smile or a hello. It was a little bit packed so we chose a table in the corner that was seated for 5, and since there were six of us, we took a chair from the next table with full intention of explaining to the waiter when they 'd come to take our order and we were even thinking if we could request a proper table if available. Instead, one of the staff shouted at us that we cant take the chair and put it back where it belongs. We were speechless and shocked, so we left immediately and as we were leaving, the whole restaurant was staring at us and the staff were giving us the side eyes. Absolutely humiliating experience, as it was our first time in Cotswolds. It did dampen our mood until we managed to find a better and friendlier pub nearby."

You have been amazing and nothing has ever been too much or an issue, you made sure that everything was exactly how we wanted it through every stage of our wedding!! We always came away from the Frogmill beaming with happiness more and more after each meeting with you! So thank YOU for everything!! Henry, What a guy, you were amazing!! You made sure our wedding evening was perfect for us! You did everything and MORE for us that evening, there was no stress or issues and you stayed completely calm despite us running so behind!! You co ordinated all our vendors and your staff beautifully and ensured that all transitions were smooth. When plans had to change, you made sure it was dealt with immediately. So a huge thank you to you!! And last but not least, beautiful Hollie, Hollie, what can we say, you were INCREDIBLE- from the moment we met you on Friday through to leaving on Sunday, you were there every step of the way, ensuring that everything was being done exactly how we wished but most of all, ensuring we were happy! Your official title of ‘wedding co ordinator’ needs to change, because you were so much more than this, you were my personal dress holder, my train ‘floofer’, my support, my make up checker, my ‘everything is in place’ person! The Frogmill are extremely lucky to have you!! AND Every bride needs a ‘Hollie’ Thank you again, to each and everyone of you at the frogmill that made our special day possible! "We were shown to a table and then ignored so we decided to order online. We then waited some time for our starters. When the starters arrived I mentioned that we still had no drinks. We finished our starters and when the plates were cleared I again asked for our drinks. These did eventually arrive and were removed from the bill. During the long wait for our main course a member of staff asked if we wanted to order anything else not realising we were still waiting for our main. Whilst we were there a couple were sat at a table and given menus but walked out without ordering. Another group had to go and find a member of staff to take their order. The food was very average and overpriced for what it was and the decor very tired. AVOID!"
