"Gorgeous immaculately clean and attractively decorated pub with a pretty walled garden in the middle of a lovely village off the beaten track but just over half hour from centre of Bristol. We were looking for somewhere to have lunch after a circular walk taking...in the bluebell woods and the furthest stretches of Westonbirt. Happily they were open on Bank Holiday Monday and we really enjoyed our assorted burgers and falafels and perfectly cooked trout fillet on nicoise salad. Mandy and Becky and the team are putting heart soul into this place and it felt very welcoming. Some of the party got delayed due to the whacky races and the chef kept the food warm for them. Thanks again!"

I've been to the Royal Oak several times since the pub changed hands and each time it has been excellent. The staff are very friendly, the beers are great and the food has been delicious (the mashed potato I had with a beef short rib...was the best mash I have ever had). The pies and burgers have also been excellent.

My friend and myself cycled to The Royal Oak and got soaked on the way. The manager Paula was very welcoming to a couple of dripping customers, dried our clothes while we ate a wonderful Sunday Roast. We hadn’t booked but we were lucky enough...to get a table. It’s a beautiful welcoming pub that we would definitely recommend. Book ahead though.

I had only a nice meal here with the family. as a zöliakie I can find that it is really stressful, with often limited gluten-free options. paula was so welcoming and so an amazing gluten-free choice and happy to adjust the menu for my fussy children...to! eating was delicious, beautiful atmosphere and friendly and welcoming! will soon come back:)

Had dinner at The Royal Oak last night and both the lamb and mint pie (with sweet potato fries) and the venison burger were incredible! We washed them down with an outstanding bottle of Provenancal rose (which was excellently priced!) .. and then we...had a few drinks at the bar afterwards. The atmosphere was great and the wine list is always fantastic.

we booked on Sunday afternoon in the Badminton-Pferdversuchen. all together were 10 of us, we sat in a long mood, so much space for us all and other diners too. the sunday roast was very good, some of the party wanted the fish dish, but unfortunately, as we were probably the last, all but one of the fish had sold out. Instead they were offered niçoise salat, who happy with taking off the. the personal took care of us very well and was very attentive and obligated. will be back for more!

Wow what a find! We have just eaten the best Sunday Lunch in a long time. From the minute we entered the Pub the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and with a very good choice of drinks our first impression was excellent. We both...had starters and they were both incredibly good, my partner had a Mixed Meat Lunch and I had the Roast Lamb both were amazing and the extra Cauliflower Cheese and Leeks au Gratin was an added bonus. Even though I was feeling pretty full I couldn’t resist the Eton Mess and was very glad that I found room for this delicious desert. We will definitely be returning soon and would recommend this wonderful village Pub to everyone.

"I had been in this pub for a while, but my family and I were on the way from cheltenham to Westonbirt at 17 o'clock and called for an early dinner. all four of us said that the meal was faultless, we enjoyed all three courses and cannot praise this place enough. such a great atmosphere, cordial greeting from the incredibly fabulous staff and a seat directly at the log tariff. what more can they demand. it is easy to find, beautiful location and has plenty of parking right next to the pub. in summer there is a large garden back. in februar this is the place to eat when they go to visit the colesbourne snowdrop gardens that are right in front of the house and not to miss. the menu at the colesbourne inn is huge and offers for everyone something wonderful, regardless of their taste or nutrition to choose. my calamari ‘Bar Bite’ size starter was superb and definitiw a greater part than we expected. the other appetizers, a black bell and black pudding with fried egg was superb as well as the bread selection we also ordered. mostly fish Pie....only full of a lot of different fish and whistle fish. my son had the steak and ale pier he claimed he was the best he had eaten in a very long time. two of us had the nut roast dinner.... I want my Christmas dinner to be as good as that. desserts of fruit crumbs and custard finished the meal with the obligatory glass or two of fizz. for each device in these times to offer this incredible selection of oriented, which is an absolute credit for them by the most kind of employees ever and the very high standards they did. highly recommended at any level possible. well made the colesbourne inn"
