"We 've just had the most wonderful meal at The Rainbow Inn in Allsley, near coventry. In all honesty this was one of the best roast dinners we 've had (sorry mum! and not only that, it was entirely gluten free. My daughter is a coeliac and eating out becomes a stressful affair at times. Ive never felt so safe taking her to eat somewhere. The marvellous chef, Chef Jon, is a credit to The Rainbow Inn and serves a fully gluten free Sunday menu complete with childrens options. Everything gluten free. My husband opted for gammon and said it was the nicest hed ever had. It melted in the mouth. The yorkshires were enormous, the apricot stuffing was a dream. I had roast beef and couldnt fault anything at all... and my dessert of profiteroles was delicious! They were actually like little tiny fresh donuts... and of course fully gluten free. We also sampled some of the home made gluten free bread which was enjoyed by all. Not at all the crumbly shop bought stuff. Having seen the chef by chance on Instagram, i was aware of his first hand insight into catering for coeliacs and the importance of cross contamination control. He went above and beyond to make us all, but certainly my daugther, feel super safe. He prepared a special pudding selection for her which i think she will remember for a long time. She had a little portion of all the pudding options and when i asked her which was her favourite she simply said all of them . We will most definitely be returning to sample the friday night fish and chips menu which again is entirely gluten free."

"Went as party of six for dinner. This place was jam packed at 0730, prior booking is recommended if you don’t like waiting there for people to get up. Pretty loud due to crowd We order grill platter and salmon tikka, papads, lamb keema, butter chicken, shahi paneer, dal makhani and butter naan, pilau rice and gulab jamun with ice cream Salmon tikka is worth a try as it just dissolve in your mouth with right spices and grilled.. Grills Well personally I am not a. Big fan of grill platter as first thing is smoke which is like makes me uneasy. But that just me … Chicken tikka was good but could have been better. The rest I ddi not share but it does comes with seekh kababs and lamb shanks.. Now the best part I must say was the mains. Dal makhani i missed it how we use to have it in India . And yesterday I did tasted the dal which reminded me of the authentic taste. (Loved it) Lamb keema was really nice and lamb was cooked to perfection. Butter chicken was good as per my son as he is the big fan of the curry. Pilau Rice were good and so though butter naan’s Not sure of shahi panner as did not had a chance to eat that as was too full. Gulab jamun Don’t eat sweet so I guess it might have been good as the guys were like getting to grab another one Parking is good however do not forget to register your car to avoid the fine later. Overall experience was really good and had good time spent with friends"

"We booked a table to celebrate a get together the night before our wedding for 15 and preordered all of our meals which included a package of three courses and welcome drink, all sent to the restaurant a couple of weeks in advance. It was just an absolute disaster from the get go. As soon as we sat down I was given a stapled together document of all of our preorders to ‘check through’ for some reason, despite sending these by email in plenty of time and not really being sure what I was supposed to be doing as the waitress looked really confused. I had screenshots of everyone’s orders luckily. Despite it being a group booking where we wanted one table, they sort of squashed two tables together that didn’t fit so we were essentially on two separate tables apart from each other. Our drinks turned up just before dessert and not once did anyone come to take our drink orders separately to this. We had to go downstairs to the very busy bar to get a drink with waiting times of around 15 minutes. There was a staff member wearing a red shirt with I think penguins on it (date Friday 15th December) and I never ever name and shame anyone but this man who I think was a manager screamed at the staff from the top floor down to the bottom so incredibly loudly that it made everyone in the upstairs area so, so uncomfortable. He was just rude to everyone and your staff shouldn’t have to put up with that. A number of the desserts didn’t turn up and those that did were wrong. I was accused of not including some people’s desserts in the preorder, even though I had clear evidence that I had. We had a rude waitress with a face on her as though we were in the wrong and a massive inconvenience to be spending several hundreds at their restaurant and were only ever polite at the endless mistakes terrible service. In the end they took money off our bill for all of the errors, but I’ve never been made to feel like dirt in a restaurant before like I have there. It was beyond awful. Do NOT go there during a busy period i.e. around Christmas and don’t expect them to remember your preorders or even be treated with respect whether you’re a staff member or a customer. Absolute shambles."
