"Been coming here since the early nineties knew all the old owner Tommy, Yin and Simon and all the staff. Have always used it but have moved away recently. We went there last night to have a few missed dished. The food was very fresh very nice. A couple of things were a negative though. We always had the salt and chilli squid starter. I'm sorry but today it's 14.50 for a starter? It was nice but never 14.50 worth. Bo starter should be 14.50. Prawn main dish 14.50. Normal bottle of water. 3.50 300ml. How and when did Oakwood palace become so expensive. 3 people £100. 1 beer two soft drinks. Good food but way to expensive. It's not as if the place has had a major revamp. It's had a lick of paint and a little tosh up. Also the portions were on the small side. Sweet and sour pork Cantonese style was the dish I fell in love with year 30 years ago. Wasn't crispy and was half the size of the old days portion. But 12£ now. Not sure if I'd go back to pay 30£ each for run of the mill chinese. Fusion it's not"

"Have been tonight with a few x works colleagues we all agree that the food was of a very high standard from the garlic breads to sliced pork in red wine ,plus Spanish meat balls and Spanish omelet etc. I had creme brule for desert wow fantastic .capuchino to finish. "Worst experience yet!! I ordered a takeaway via Uber eats and requested for the food to be authentic Indian style. I received just under half filled containers and when I called to complain, the manager replied the reason for the very small potion of my food ie. Lamb Bhuna (authentically lamb in dry sauce) was because they would usually water the down for general customers but as we wanted the proper one we received much smaller potions and if we’re not happy then we don’t need to order again!!! The even bigger issue was that the food was also very badly cooked with a horrendous amounts of spice, even the popadoms were chewy. I did not receive any salad or sauces at all either!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!"

"DISGRACEFUL SERVICE MYSELF my family went for a meal on Easter Sunday 2023, served by a hostile waiter who blatantly LIED to us regarding the content of our meal …we ordered a large sheftalia however, we received a regular ..this awful waiter argued with us that we had indeed received a large meal …we have been customers for years have never been made to feel so uncomfortable in the wrong as we were tonight. Eventually another waiter came to our table tried to diffuse the situation but unfortunately this only added fuel to the fire as we didn’t even receive an apology , or asked if we would like a free drink etc..as a gesture of good will (even though he admitted the other waiter was in the wrong) My husband did not wish to cause a scene!, however I would have done if it hadn’t been for him. We left paying the bill in full (more fool us)! Did not pay service charge however. Will NOT be returning to the blue olive again will be sure to let people know of the DISGRACEFUL SERVICE."

"We stopped by this pub after a stroll in Grovelands park. The location is great and there is plenty of space including a garden. However, the food did not meet our expectations. The menu offers a strange mix of styles and it is obvious that many options are frozen. Our food took 40 minutes to arrive, even though only one other table had ordered. The staff were friendly. We visited on Easter Saturday expecting a bustling atmosphere, but there were only 5 other people there with us."

"If you want to pay a 15% Service charge then visit this restaurant. It is important to note that this information is on their menu (but doesn’t stand out) and it wasn’t mentioned when we ordered. While discussing this point with the manager. It was clear that he had no interest in taking our viewpoint on board he actually suggested us having a takeaway instead next time! Such a shame that this very poor customer service has now lost them two customers. We have been here before (a few times) and never had this problem. I feel that in making a compulsory service charge is unreasonable especially at 15%. I’m sure this additional charge will make people think twice about spending their limited money on a nice evening meal. Such a shame that the manager didn’t seem to respect our opinion."

"We visited this restaurant to celebrate Father's Day with our family. My in-laws had dined there before, so we knew it must be good! We had delicious and generous portions of meze served with fresh, hearty bread. The service was attentive and friendly. I ordered liver skewers with bread, which was fresh and perfectly cooked. My daughter had liver wrapped in a tasty wrap and enjoyed it. My husband had the Adana, which looked fabulous. We all had a great time and would highly recommend this restaurant."

"I have ordered from this restaurant quite a few times now. The first few orders I was amazed by the food, the delivery was on time, about an hour. The last few orders have been about a 3hr wait. The first time, I can potentially forgive, it happens, but we had the restaurant on redial for 45 minutes and nobody answered. Due to how much we liked the food we tried again. This time it took 3 hours to arrive. We managed to get hold of somebody at the restaurant and no apology, nothing. No longer will we be ordering from this restaurant ever again. Such a shame as the food is awesome."

"So where to begin ok first time for me going to this Harvester and once parked up walking to the entrance I noticed the sign hanging on the wall in need of repair and overall you can see it's not been looked after or maintained for a few years, once inside we were ushered to our table, Once sat down we were offered the menu mine had the added bonus of dried food stuck inside the menu as well as someone's hair lucky me. After ordering food and drinks we were offered to go to the salad bar and pick choices which were added to the bowls all good although the Harvester salad cart isn't anything like the Harvester of years ago Back at the table and first forkful of mixed salad I realised the fork I used had left over food welded to the prongs another surprise I wasn't expecting. Looking around and you realise this venue hasn't been maintained or cleaned properly for a very long time, dust and grease on the lampshades stains on Paint skirting boards coming away from structures and I don't think the outside seating area has seen a jetwash in the last few years. Going to the toilet! Well what can I say that's positive the hand dryer works well! So cubicle covered in graffiti tags and clearly the cleaning team don't go anywhere near the back of the toilet as it's clearly not seen a cleaning cloth mop or bleach in years! The hot water on sink 1 doesn't work and the hot water on sink 2 doesn't get hot So back to the food I ordered the mix grill with rump steak having watched someone opposite trying to cut his streak that kinda looked like boot leather I asked for medium rare hopefully it'll arrive medium, I was right to a degree it was cooked way beyond medium rare and medium in fact it was beyond well but it was edible The size of the meal is enormous but the gammon is unbelievably salty and again cooked a lot longer than necessary but again edible Overall it's very disappointing and it's not a venue I'll return to until the owners decide to update the property and show improvement to the state of the toilets and overall cleaning standard as well as repairs, The only positive I can say is the service staff do genuinely try and give you a positive and enjoyable experience it's just a shame the management owners don't give them a nice environment to work in."

"Best steak ever!. My wife and I recently visited Green 's as being foodies we are always keen to try out new restaurants and had read many good reviews about this place. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel at home. The lighting, the seating, the background music (they were playing my favourite Jazz album of all time! and the impeccable manners and attentiveness of the staff create such a warm and friendly ambience. Now to the food. For meat eaters this is heaven! For starters I couldn 't decide between the liver pate and the sliders (a trio of mini burgers so my wife and I ordered both so we could get the best of both worlds. The liver pate was so smooth and rich, bursting with flavour with a sweet chutney on the side and went perfectly with the melba toast. I then turned my attention to the sliders which having watched Man v Food several times was aware this was an American idea but had never seen it here before. Its a great way to sample the burgers as a starter. 3 burgers 1 regular, 1 smokey and 1 vegetarian. Even the vegetarian burger was stunning and that isn 't even my kind of thing. My wife and I demolished both dishes. All dishes come served on a wooden board which is a nice touch and makes a change from the regular plate. All the time, the staff were attentative without being obtrusive the right mix. The manager also came over to us to see how we were doing and helped make up my mind for the main course. For main course I ordered the rib eye steak medium rare and my wife the salt beef sandwich. On the side we shared steak fries, mac cheese and onion rings. Yes by now the diet was out the window but at this point I was having too much fun to care! Again my wife and I shared our dishes with each other. I can honestly say that this was the best steak I 've ever had lovely chargrilled flavour and perfectly cooked inside so succulent and went so well with the béarnaise sauce on the side. The steak fries were nice and crispy and well seasoned. The onion rings (which were actually recommended to us by the couple sitting behind us and the husband was even discussing booking his birthday party there! were outstanding light, fluffy, sweet and crispy due to being battered in Cider. If you 've only ever had Harvester or Burger King 's onion rings then you haven 't had an onion ring until you 've tried these bad boys. The mac and cheese was also great golden brown and crispy on top and bubbling underneath. The flavour was quite different to regular mac and cheese and the manager told me they had gone through over 30 iterations to get the recipe exactly right!! The salt beef was great too very succulent and lean served on rye bread with a gherkin and mustard. Very New York! Loved it. As we approached dessert, I contemplated the sorbets but only fleetingly before my wife convinced me that it would be a much more sensible idea to order the a 'proper ' dessert so we went for the warm chocolate fondant and caramelised orange cheesecake. Yep the diet had taken a major backseat tonight! : Quite simply if you can imagine my wife and I not speaking to each other whilst we devoured the desserts as we were too busy making inappropriate sounds of approval and saying 'amazing '; this would sum up that experience. We had coffee to finish and I liked the humour of the milk arriving in a mini milking jug. Nice touch. For us this was the best restaurant we have been to in a long time and we want to return on a Sunday to introduce the kids to this culinary experience. 10/10."

"I don’t ever write reviews but after last nights experience I have to! First off let me just name and shame SALVATORE! From the get go it was or should I say he was awful. We had a booking, arrived and he appeared to be inconvenienced by our arrival and rolled his eyes before showing us to a table. The table only had one chair (there was two of us) and then he left us standing by the table! We had to then go ask another table if their chair was free. We dismissed this as a minor error but now have come to realise this is just how this man operates! From then it took half an hour from our starter to arrive from ordering and service was also slow for the main. We then ordered the bill from our friend Salvatore, he barely acknowledged us (slight grunt often his chosen form of communication) and then he walked away to another waitress who was clearly rushed off her feet and pointed at our table. We then had the privilege of watching Salvatore do next to nothing for 25 minutes and then again when another table ordered he pointed at the poor waitress. After half an hour of waiting for the bill I again asked Salvatore for the bill, to which he raised his hands in the air, shrugged said “I don’t want to touch it” and again just walked off shaking his head. After 35 minutes of waiting my partner was forced to go over and ask for the bill. The question was directed at Salvatore however he was unresponsive and didn’t acknowledge and the waitress (apologies we didn’t get her name) who was very apologetic then sorted out our bill. We left 40 minutes after asking for the bill. We would absolutely NOT recommend coming here. Find another pizza express restaurant!"

My wife had penne with salmon, which was well-mixed and had plenty of flaky salmon pieces with a good level of spiciness. The kids had spaghetti and meatballs, which were large and delicious. "Today I placed an order and spent £48 I was missing one item. I wasn’t asking for a refund I was asking for the time and the person on the phone accused me of lying, of taking the item out and how she was so sure she packed it. Yet no sweet and sour chicken in my bag. Told me there’s nothing she can do, and that I’m lying made me count all of the items to her and still persisted to call me a liar because she packed the bag herself. Saying I was trying to get money out of them. May I add I didn’t ask for a refund like I said, I wanted the item that I didn’t receive. Don’t bother going here again, she’s rude and unprofessional. Never will I go here again. Ever. I will be contacting just eat as well. Worst part is I was literally just asking for the item, no refund and she kept trying to tell me I hid it. Why would I lie about not having an item, fair enough if I was asking for a refund. I wasn’t. I wanted my food to eat with my partner. Told me I don’t know how to speak to people when she come on the phone trying to tell me I’m hiding the food and that I’ve actually got it. Delusional worker, rude, unprofessional and clearly needs a new job."

"If ever your in the Southgate area and you want a great cafe, come here. Myself and other work colleagues frequent this place if we feel like a really lovely treat for lunch. The cheese quater pouders and chips are amazing! Just as good and arguably better than Jennies or our old friend Whimpy. The jacket potatoes are cracking, with beautiful fresh salad, so cleanly presented. As so are the omelets. All the dishes I see other people eating also look so tasty. "Having been regulars for over years I was very disappointed with both the food and the service tonight.Firstly no bread brought with our starter. The lamachun was cold and hard.The grilled onion raw. Not given a choice of table. Only two of us, but the table next to us had so much attention and fresh btread twice maybe because there was of them. They ran out of beer!! gave my Husband the last small beer, but went to a local shop to buy large beers for the table of After minutes our dirty plates had not been moved. No one checked if our meal was Ok or asked us if we wanted fresh bread. No dessert offered and no Turkish teas too end our meal as is local Turkish custom. No discount offered after our comments to both staff and the owner.So after twice weekly visits for over years we will not be returning. Fore street is over run with Turkish restaurants there are plenty who would I am sure welcome our regular custom. Needs to improve its service instead of just being in it for the money!!"
