"The curries Nurjenna presented to us were, at best, satisfactory and, at worst, i. mi. comparable to anyone served in a good local curry. We can only speculate if a menu that caters to 152 individual articles can be a factor that contributes to the mediocrity we experience. However, what is certain is that we were not at all Kush ho ke khow or be happy to eat, but only because we expected much more in terms of innovation and culinary refinement of a multi-priest curryhouse winner. In any case, going through its 4. Rating of 5/5 in Tripadvisor (100 reviews), Nurjenna certainly seems to be impressing the common man and, of course, the good judges of those curry prizes.Message recommendationBasic MojitoEntrante Rey Langostino MariposaPrincipal Ceylon"

"I went with 5 friends for our Christmas get together to Hunters where we had eaten previously and greatly enjoyed it. No one helped with our coats either on arrival or departure, which was one of the special 'old fashioned ' services that made Hunters so unique. However on this occasion, despite the restaurant being 2/3 empty, the service was very slow, the portions considerably smaller than previously and one of my friends commented that she felt the ingredients used were inferior. After we had finished the main course, we tried to get the attention of a waiter to ask for dessert. This took a while but eventually when a waiter came to our table, we asked for the sweet trolley, (which was a particular feature for Hunters , only to be informed that they no longer had this under the 'new management ', This is when we realised why the overall service and quality had dropped Louis has sold the restaurant (I had presumed when we didn 't see him that he had a well deserved night off! . Hunters is certainly not the restaurant it was and we will not be returning there. I understand George has retired and Louis has moved on to another venture if anyone knows where his new restaurant is, I would appreciate it if you could let us know."

"Visited with friends and family. We had Samosa chat, sev chat, fish moily, coconut rice, mysore masala dosa, ghee roast dosa, tatta idly and chicken momos. Portion sizes are good. Taste was amazing. The dosas were delicious as were the sambar and 3 types of chutney. The spice levels are bold. Every dish was scrumptious and each bite like a fireworks of flavours. Though my friend informed me that the fish moilee recipe was not authentic but it tasted great. There were so many dishes that I wished to try, need to visit again soon."

"Decided to visit a couple weeks ago with a few friends after a walk in trent park. We live in the local area and know the other Indian restaurants aren't too bad. This one unfortunately is Bangladeshi and not a genuine Indian restaurant at all. Won't go into a really long one but here are the points: Bad mannered staff, some won't smile at you or engage in any conversation, like irritated robots (probably because we didn't order the overpriced drinks and poppadoms where the mark up is about 400% . We thought we'd offended them. We're doing you a favour by coming in, be polite and friendly to customers! Ordered a variety of dishes, most turned out quite oily even the ones we thought were dry, chicken had been dropped in at last minute of cooking so the meat was bland. This is the not the place to come if you want to watch your oil/fat/sugar consumption. The spices could be tasted, not cooked through properly. Rice was tasty though. Lamb dishes, quite a lot of fatty parts left on the lamb but sauces had some flavour in them. Rogan Josh was the only one that was nice out of the few that wasn't too chewy. No one bothered to come and ask us how the meal was going, we usually enjoy this as we can have a chat about the dishes etc... this is when we realised we'd definitely offended them. We got the feeling they just wanted us to pay and leave, probably realised they were making a big loss on our table. All in all, poor restaurant, surprised they are still in business but probably the affluent local cockfosters crowd that don't question the food keeping them afloat, they used to be called something else but the staff are still the same. Tandoori nights isn't bad try that nearby. Also Romna gate in Soutgate too. Plenty nearby that are friendlier better value for money places to eat. Suffice to say, mates were not impressed at all.TIP for Staff: Cheer up! People are spending their money in your restaurant, show them some friendliness and respect, you're lucky to be in a nice area like Cockfosters with nice locals who support small businesses."

"Visiting a restaurant on a rainy Sunday night in January can be quite a serene experience, especially in a town center that's a bit off the beaten path. Despite having made a reservation, we were the only diners in the restaurant from 6:30 PM to 8:20 PM when we left. I haven't researched the restaurant beforehand, but it's fair to say that they seem to believe their all-day dining concept, which ranges from breakfast to dinner, is the right approach to navigate the current cost-of-living crisis. Overall, the food was good, and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely consider returning for another visit."
