"We (a couple) walked in the Crusader about 13:00 and was greeted at the bar with “was you planning on eating?” yes we replied, “there could be an hour wait, we are expecting a party of 11” so we just had a drink, as we was there for over an hour, in that time I could see there was in total of about 10 or 11 diners in the whole restaurant! I'm guessing there was more than 40 dinning settings available! We plan to eat out tomorrow, in Roydon, in one of the other two pubs! The Crusader is incompetent ! So, I went to Roydon again for a pub lunch, It's been a few days since my bad experience with the Crusader so I headed to the new inn but found I couldn't get into the car park because of a delivery to the pub, no parking spaces on the road, so I span around and said to the person I was with “shall we give the Crusader another chance” and we agreed to go back there! So In we go! Greeted by the barstaff. . . . couldn't had been better, lovely woman, ordered food, all going well, food served in a short time, great! The fish and chips was fine, my sausage and mash was awful! You know when you forget to get the sausages out the oven and they end up with just a thin core of pink meat in the center? The sausages served to me didn't even have a pink core! They were beyond belief! I'm 54 and have never complained in a restaurant before, it was embarrassing! The bar staff apologized and said she would have a word with the chef, she came back with the chefs excuse “it wasn't me, it wasn't me” but it was you that served it! Wasn't it! I got a refund for the meal, I was embarrassed complaining in front of my company and to the staff and I went home hungry!"
