"I visited the Jolly Fryer with my wife for a snack. We both had sausage and chips and we were charged £3.50 each, totalling £7. I don 't usually go into fish and chip shops as I think they are always over priced and if you ask for, for instance, fish and chips, they don 't ask you if you want small or large chips, they just charge you the large chip price. Anyway I am always checking the prices first to make sure I 'm not overcharged. On the board it says 'SMALL CHIPS £1.40 ' SAUSAGE £1.70, so this should have been £3.10 each, totalling £6.20 but we were charged £7. When I queried this, without having to explain anything really, the lady said 'the chips £1.40 are a half a bag of chips '. I said that is a bit of a con. She immediately, without me asking , went to the till and gave me some money back. So basically, when you look up for a small bag of chips, and that 's all it says, a small bag of chips, for £1.40, you are automatically, at the till, charged £1.80 and if you query it, they say they advertise a small bag of chips for £1.40 is only half a bag of chips, but it does not say this. Have you ever been to a chip shop and asked for half a bag of chips? What a con this is. But if you look on their table menu, small chips is £1.80. Its all a bit confusing, but they are ripping you off!"
