This charming fish and chip shop, run by a family, is fantastic. There is nothing to complain about. The quality of the food is excellent and the portions are generous. The staff are friendly, helpful, and polite. I wouldn't want to eat anywhere else. I highly recommend it.

I recently ordered takeout from The Jolly Fryer, and I have to admit it was absolutely disgusting. I can't understand how someone could ruin cod, chips, and mushy peas so badly. The chips were soggy, covered with mushy peas, and topped with an undercooked piece of cod. It was not only unappetizing in appearance, but it also tasted terrible. My dogs ended up eating it while we settled for toast instead. It was a complete waste of money, and I will never be ordering from them again.

I visited the Jolly Fryer with my wife for a snack. We both had sausage and chips and we were charged £3.50 each, totalling £7. I don 't usually go into fish and chip shops as I think they are always over priced and if you ask for, for instance, fish and chips, they don 't ask you if you want small or large chips, they just charge you the large chip price. Anyway I am always checking the prices first to make sure I 'm not overcharged. On the board it says 'SMALL CHIPS £1.40 ' SAUSAGE £1.70, so this should have been £3.10 each, totalling £6.20 but we were charged £7.
