"Stopped here for a drink and dinner as we were traveling back from the seaside , we just missed the local tea room so we decided the next pub will do . On arrival all looks clean and re furbished , asked the landlady if we were ok for dinner , yes cooking til 7 . Had a look at the menu , usual fair , I opted for the ploughman’s with a side of chips my girlfriend ordered fish and chips . Food mediocre at best fish (grey in colour ,lacking in taste ,)processed probably from Tesco frozen in batter ,tinned mushy peas , chips looked rustic skin on and double dipped , my ploughman’s was very basic , u know the type tasteless cheese , spongy onion budget salad a frozen quick cook roll a teaspoon of chutney and coleslaw with a mountain of chips . My girlfriend thought the desert might b worth a try , unfortunately if u microwave a pie the pastry goes soft with the steam it creates surely we have all worked that one out .... obviously not . Then drowned in custard . Sent straight back and then when leaving had to ask for my money back on the desert as no offer was made . Was informed the six sold yesterday were all consumed without complaint . My advice to you all if looking to eat in filby unless u want a bowl of crispy chips try elsewhere . Maybe I’m being harsh but it’s my review and every word I write is 100% honest ."
