"I was treated to a Late Friday Lunch at this pub. I chose this pub as had read good feedback. The pub was quiet not too busy. Looked very clean. Menu was only available via QR code, which i did not have neither did anyone...in my party of 3. So we had to use waiters phone. Firstly i was disappointed at lunchtime no Cheese ploughman was on the menu. It said tradional pub meal but this was not the case. I was also disappointed as there was limited choice of vegetraian or vegan options. I chose Halloumi Burger and one had Beyond meat (vegan? burger and third just opted for chips only. The halloumi burger was dripping all over the place with some sauce, halloumi cheese slice was very thin and burger was bulked out with massive lettuce leaves and some slices of tomato. Was given coleslow as a side and chips were included. Beyond meat burger was still raw in the centre thinking customer wanted medium rare. vegetraian burgers need to be cooked thro and not semi cooked. again bulked out with lettuce and tomato. Chunky chips were ok. Other choices of vegetrain options we did not fancy, especially pizza, humus and pitta bread and mushroom pie. And i hate goat cheese. DRinks were usual pub prices. Altogether it was an expensive lunch but i would only visit this pub for a drink at lunchtime and not a meal esp. being vegetarian. I hope the chef adds more vegetarian options as he has done for non-veg. If you go in the evening there is nowhere to park as outside the pub is double yellow lines and nearest car park from 1st Nov 2021 closes at 4pm. So if you live nearby you have to walk to this pub."

"The experience got off to a troubling start! Staff body language communicated a disheartening no no! No eye contact, no smile, no words of welcome. I had to initiate awareness of my presence the place was empty save for one table of two customers. Frontline members of staff were forgetful lacked anticipation: I had to ask for cutlery; I had to remind ask for requested vinegar, which eventually arrived not in a bottle but in a tiny ceramic dish; staff within proximity ignored the crashing sound of my knife hitting the floor oops, I dropped it and so I had to initiate ask for a clean replacement. Slow at food item service, which resulted in cold, unpalatable ham cheese toasty; ignored my attempts to pay my bill with a card even though I proffered the plate with a VISA card to the waitress. Menus description failure: The so called skin on chips side was nothing of the sort, merely regular chips, few in number but high in cost, a whopping £3.90 to add to the price of £7.40 of my ham cheese toasty. The menu describes add on sides as PIMP [sic] YOUR PLATE , a curious use of the word, a risible misnomer in the circumstances. I 'd rewrite this as 'rip off...plate ', for I witnessed the next table of two customers being palmed off with zero consideration and/or adequate recompense when the staff were informed of a food hygiene issue. The team has difficulty communicating verbally in English has zero understanding of the norms of common sense PR customer care in the hospitality industry. Owners need to take a grip on what 's going on and what 's not at Oak Caffe, more like Gaffe Caffe, if you ask me. Local eateries/cafes were busy, one on the same street overflowing outside with customers, a telling reflection of lamentable standards at this troubled eatery."

"This pub should have all the elements to be great. However, it is badly managed and awful rude bar service. A group of approx 12 of us went for afternoon drinks on a nice sunny Saturday. We were sat outside it was lovely. As we arrived a half an hour late, myself and my wife got our drinks. My wife asked for a bit more ice than the 3 cubes she was given in her drink and was told by a rude member of staff that they were rationing the ice so they had enough. However, someone else serving was giving a whole glassful to another customer. On going back to the bar for a round of 12 drinks, when pouring the second drink (a beer) the barrel ended. Our server went to change the barrel. The same rude bar member that said about the ice came across and asked us if anyone needed serving, to which our reply was that we were being served but our server was changing the barrel, but he could help us with the other drinks as there was no one else waiting. He stated it was only one server per group and he was far too busy cleaning glasses to help us and they were very busy. So after the 10 minutes we waited for our server to come back (and the rude bar staff stood there cleaning glasses and making rude comments to us), and then 10 more minutes for her to serve us once our server got back, it took 25 minutes with no one at the bar and the rude bar member cleaning glasses commenting to us. On another round, one person in our group was ignored as they went to get served by the same bar staff member waiting 20 mins and seeing people who came in after him being served. He came away from the bar not buying drinks. Over 5 hours, at over £70 a round, we must have spent in excess of £700 between our group. However, we will be selecting another pub for our drinks in the future. I suggest that the management watch carefully the staff in the bar that is ruining this pub. For the weather, the tables outside were relatively quiet. Btw the lady that served the big round for us and changed the barrel was good busy and polite. Just let down by the others!"

"I hadn't eaten at cafe cafe for a few years, the food did NOT disappoint, it was fabulous. Curried tiger prawns and king scallops and pork belly starters-beautiful. Monkfish and lamb mains, again, soooo tasty. Service prompt, waiting staff average, there was hardly any diners,...strange for a Saturday night. So, here's the not so great bits, the whole place just seems tired, a little unloved and a bit manky. It's hard to know if the bar or the restaurant is more important to the owners. The noise from the bar really filtered into the restaurant, didn't create the best romantic dining atmosphere. The lights kept dimming then going brighter again, this happened about 4/5 times during our meal, again, no effort to enhance the atmosphere for diners. The toilets were filthy, toilet roll on the dispenser had finished, so the new roll was on the floor, this is just lazy, the restaurant wasn't packed so staff should be checking the toilets regularly in my view. I'm glad I'd not gone to the loo prior to eating-this is unacceptable, especially as this is prestigious, world renowned Harrow on the Hill, where's the personal pride? The outside smoking area is littered with fag ends, again, where's the sense of pride or reputation? This is the high street, at least as a courtesy to local residents and businesses ensure this area is regularly swept? The decor seemed tired, not the cafe cafe we regularly frequented a few years ago, such a shame."
