"My partner and I took a little holiday in Hastings and were pleasantly surprised to come across this incredible restaurant. Although we didn't dine in as we had other plans, we couldn't resist the sight of the focaccia displayed in the window. We ordered two slices, and it was the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. It was truly authentic Italian and freshly made. I'm just disappointed it's so far from where we live because I would eat here every day if I could! The pizzas looked fantastic, and I would absolutely return to Hastings just to visit this restaurant again. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the service was excellent."

"Fantastic, lively burger place with at least 2 vegan burger options (plus a recent special vegan burger). These are made by them and they have a vegan section to their kitchen to avoid cross contamination. They also offer vegan cheese fries and drinks. Not only that, but you can even get a gluten free and vegan chocolate brownie with vegan ice cream! My slight complaints are that the gluten free buns aren't vegan and that they don't do vegan coleslaw. Fix those 2 things and I'd happily give 4 stars."

"Have been here several times and always go for the evening buffet. Which you can do at lunch or dinner time. It £29.99 a person but you can eat, as much as you like. The portions are small which is great as it means you can have lots of different things rather than the masses they give you when you order a take away. Service is always good, food hot and delicious. Really recommend. "Really enjoyed coming here. Came here for dinner. We liked the choices on the menu of a 'bigger plate ' or a 'smaller plate ' and the 'bar snacks '. Great choices on the menu, reasonable prices, and all ingredients were from local seas, farms, and producers. The pub was quirky with a great atmosphere. The food was delicious! "I sat here for my birthday meal and 5 friends. We were very welcome and had a fantastic service. We all loved our food (and plenty of wine and gin!! When the waiter found out that it was my birthday, he gave me a bottle of rose wine to go home. We were the last people in the restaurant, but didn't feel rushed to go. We were at 10.50 anyway. Really nice evening. I'm here several times, but not with a group of friends. We were checked to make sure we were all right and nothing was too much for the waiter.. He even agreed to a selfie with my friend!!!! Very pleasant night. Very recommend the falafel starter."

"visited this wonderful restaurant on Wednesday night and can not wait back! the personal is fantastic, friendly and attentive and eating is simply incredible! beautifully cooked and beautifully presented, each cure was top class. the restaurant is tastefully decorated, comfortable and everyone who came through the door was welcome. our friend who celebrated his birthday was made to feel very special. his dessert plate had his name and a birthday greeting and the personal sang all happy birthday! it is clear that the staff in bella vista feel something special and this in combination with the fantastic eating, make it, without doubt, the best place to eat in the opposite. can not be very recommended and look forward to a new visit. many thanks to bella vista xx"

"I hate giving low reviews, especially to all vegan places I ordered cheesy garlic nachos and cauliflower wings my two go tos a because i love them but also b i feel like you can tell a lot about a vegan place on these two options. I ordered and went to sit upstairs as the space downstairs is a bit cramped. My food took a little time but its okay as I think they were sorting out an error on someone elses order. I have attached a picture so you can already see, but it was a plate of tortilla chips in a pile, with various tiny pieces of salad dotted around the outside, with shredded unmelted cheese and houmous. I understand maybe it was garlic houmous but it didnt taste like it at all and also I guess I was expecting a sauce of some kind and that the cheese would be melted. The portion was absolutely massive but I guess it makes it value for money where it otherwise wouldnt be. My cauliflower bites were yummy but so difficult to eat bc they were too big and fell apart, and there was so much sauce at the bottom of the bowl I actually poured some onto my nachos (made them less dry! . I also asked for tap water but wasnt given any. As I was leaving, a staff member asked me if I had paid which is fair enough to ask but the way she said it was almost rude, especially since she was stood right there when I ordered."

"we enjoyed a beautiful meal at the wide open window at a very warm night. friendly atmosphere and very good food. moules looked great, served in large black moules pot with lid. also the mackerel pate starter was excellent.......big puds also! very good value and would definitely recommend. we were a party of 4 in the evening. nice to go over the street and follow the moon over a calm sea."

"Lovely and very popular new beach hut cafe, focused on fish but with prominent labelled vegan options: crispy tofu bap or crispy tofu salad, both of which can be with pickles, guacamole, vegan mayonnaise. Been there twice and had the bap and salad, both fantastic, and the tofu really is crispy. Chips fine but nothing special (fries rather than proper chips). Nice people though they always seem rushed off their feet, bear in mind it's small and popular and you may need to wait a while. There are seats indoors in the hut or outside on the beach or prominade. Gun brewery beer on tap, which is local and we believe vegan. Also does soft drinks, tea, coffee etc. Great addition to Hastings vegan options!"

"we had our high-time recipe. the staff is absolutely excellent, waiting times are so fast and with a smile. we had a prefabricated buffet for our guests and the quality and amount of food was 1st grade, they even for some of our guests who need a gluten-free selection. many of our guests have the food, the personal and the presentation of the venue added. we thank all our employees for welcoming us to let our evening go so well. is the buffet provided by the greeting for 30 people, there was easy enough food for 15 to 20 more people."

"I ordered a chicken burger, and when it arrived, I was disappointed to find only a tiny dollop of sauce inside and wilted lettuce, as if it had been under a heat lamp for too long. One of our burgers contained a hair, prompting the guest to stop eating immediately. We flagged down our waitress, who was genuinely apologetic and said she would inform her manager. A few minutes later, the manager came over but told us she couldn’t do anything since the burger was mostly eaten. How could we identify a hair without taking a few bites? We insisted on speaking with the manager, and the waitress volunteered to take one of our guests to her. Eventually, the manager arrived, inspected the plate, and bombarded us with questions like “Where is the hair?” and “How long was it?” She then took the plate to the kitchen for better light. About 5 to 10 minutes later, a man in a white shirt approached us—likely a manager or security guard. He also asked questions but soon became rude and dismissive when we tried to explain. He insisted that everyone in the kitchen had short hair and wore hats and hairnets. Throughout this ordeal, we remained polite, responding to their inquiries honestly. After some back-and-forth, where they suggested we might be faking the incident, we pointed out that a camera near our table could provide evidence of the incident. He walked away without any further communication and did not return. The way this situation was handled was completely unacceptable and soured what was meant to be a special birthday meal, for which we traveled over an hour. After finishing our meal, another waiter approached us and simply asked “Amount?” which caught us off guard, as we hadn’t even received a bill yet. Following the hair incident, we noticed security peering around the corner, making us feel as though we were under suspicion. On a positive note, our waitress was lovely and very apologetic about the whole situation, consistently checking to ensure we had what we needed throughout the evening. However, for a £500 bill, I expected significantly better service."

"I had my work Christmas meal at this restaurant on December 2, 2016 with a group of 16 people, and it was absolutely amazing. The food was excellent, very tasty and served hot. I ordered the roasted beef and it was incredibly tender and delicious. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals and had a great evening. The service from the three staff members was outstanding, they should be proud of the job they did. Everyone was very happy with the evening, and I received positive feedback from all of my colleagues about the venue and my recommendation to dine there. A special thanks to Billie, Chantelle, and the third young lady for their excellent service, and I will be leaving a little something for her for Christmas. Also, thanks to the chef and to Dennis and Sarah for hosting us that evening."

"This is truly a hidden gem so close to sea front on one of the side roads. As soon as we stepped in we could feel a homey hospitable welcoming by the chef and waitress. This looks like a shop so they have got lots...of Moroccan goods on for sale and a couple of tables for eating. We were received so well. For starters we had the mezze platter which was so flavourful with a range of prawn harissa, goats cheese, vegetable, hummus and kebab. We had chicken and spinach tagine, kafta with lentils and fish tagine. Now this is where the BIG surprise is the food was FULL of flavour unlike other Moroccan food which is so bland and boring. Everything was cooked to perfection our favourite was the kafte and chicken. The food had such a home made and fresh taste. We ordered one kunefe between the of us because two of us don’t like the cheesy and salty taste. We were surprised again coz the chef had got the balance so right and we all gobbled it up it tasted like clotted cream! We were so pleased with the service and food which is absolutely rare to get both of these qualities in a restaurant. We felt like we were abroad! And the last surprise was the dessert was complimentary from the chef. This was our last day of our staycation in hasting and it was the perfect ending!"
