"Great ideas, poorly implemented. The outlet has computerized menus and ordering, with only one small menu on the counter and no overhead listings, so immediate effect is unwelcoming, but we persevered. We ignored the menu screen offering to setup an account and ordered breakfasts, paying...at the menu terminal. Three members of staff operated on this late June Saturday morning, one washing up, one behind the scenes preparing food and a operating front of house/chef. The salmon bagel was offered with soft cheese, a good sign, and the scrambled eggs with avocado and salmon sounded good. According to the ordering screens, no hot drinks were available except tea? Food was prepared and served on disposable plates, with plastic cutlery available and serviettes ‘on request’. Nothing really Environmental, maybe that’s why it’s called Tossed. The bagel is not easy to get wrong, the cheese was fine, the key ingredient being salmon tasted salty and could have come from a can, as there was no sense of it being sliced, more likely mechanically recovered? Similarly with the scrambled egg, a scoop of cold salmon (same type) and a scoop of avocado. Sometimes I wonder who taste tests such meals? We left disappointed with our meal and lighter. The adjacent outlet was Harry Ramsden’s, where we bought two coffees for and could have had a less healthy but more satisfying breakfast."
