"Let's start with the positives. 1. The decor was nice, spacious and open 2. Service was professional 3. Prices were ok. 4.food portions were huge and food was hot Now the problems. 1. We were a family of 4 with a toddler sitting in the restaurant area. The food took quite a while to arrive. 2. The chips were hot on the outside but hard and undercooked on the inside. 3. We were sitting right by a flat screen tv which was off to begin with. The football came on and 5 flat screens including the one next to us was turned on and the sound up to full blast. We asked 3 members of staff to either turn the one in the restaurant off or turn the sound off, all agreed yet no one did anything. We and our toddler had to sit and eat our meal surrounded by 5 screens of loud football on, we were unable to have a conversation because it was too loud, the man on the table next to us had his hand down his pants, the loud shouting was making my toddler jump, the doors were all closed and no air con on,on a hot day, this was compleately inappropriate in the family food section. I feel we wernt listened to, there were 4 other screens by the bar showing the football, I had to resort to putting cotton wool in my ears, and the atmosphere was horrible, it was a total waste of money, eventually we abandoned our meal and walked out! Sorry but I wouldn't totally reccomend this pub for family eatting."

"We visited today because the carvery the advertised looked delicious unfortunately it wasn't. The beef was excellent the roast potatoes were hard, like bullets, I have no words to describe the Yorkshire pudding, the gravy was stone cold and didn't taste very nice. The pub/ restaurant was quiet busy, it was no noisy pretty much like a kindergarten! screaming kids)We have no issues with noise or people enjoying themselves obviously it's a pub) you had to shout to hear each other. The most disgusting thing was the two families on the long table on the left as you enter the dining area, with children had a small dog with them the dog was sitting on the long seat the people fed the dog putting the food directly on the seat, the dog ate the food licking the seat clean when it finished, it made us feel sick! No fault of the pub but somebody unaware of this may have nice clean smart clothes on will sit on a dirty unhygienic seat. No issues with pets being in pubs as long as they're under control having them on the furniture is a no no especially when they eat off on the seat. As well a hygiene issue some people have allergies unknowing what has happened before. Unfortunately we wouldn't recommend the globe nor return, considering the money we paid it was ott. There are many pubs in the area where the Sunday lunches that are better quality and competitively priced. We had intended staying in the pub to watch the football but due to the noise we were uncomfortable our friends who were going to join us for the game decided not too we went home."

"Apart from being a very common male and female name in Japan, Makoto also means ‘sincerity’ or ‘truth’. The sushi and sashimi served at Sushi Bar Makoto are certainly a true taste of Japan, nestled away in Turnham Green. A girl I’m dating is a fan of the restaurant and she was excited for me to try their food. The sushi bar was closed to visitors because of Lockdown 2.0 so we ordered our food to be delivered to her place via Deliveroo one Saturday night in November. We chose the salmon combo, which consists of two pieces salmon nigiri, six pieces salmon roll, and three pieces salmon sashimi. We also had the spicy tuna inside-out roll (uramaki and a side of edamame beans. When researching this review, I was surprised to learn that salmon has only been used as an ingredient in sushi since the 1980s and was introduced by a Danish businessman (one of the only Western sushi variations that has been adopted in Japan . It’s hard to believe the Japanese didn’t include salmon before this because it is so delicious when served as an ingredient in sushi. For those unfamiliar with sushi, salmon nigiri comprises an oblong of vinegared rice with a slice of salmon draped over it. Salmon rolls are wheels of rice with salmon and spring onion stuffed in the centre, contained in an outer wrapper of nori (seaweed . The spicy tuna rolls look similar to the salmon rolls, however the rice is on the outside and the nori is wrapped around the tuna and vegetables in the centre. Lastly, salmon sashimi (which, strictly speaking, is not sushi is simply thickly cut pieces of raw salmon. It’s all very good. The fish in each of the dishes was really fresh and full of flavour. Fat grains of white rice are used and the vinegar used to hold the rice together gives it a lovely, slightly sour flavour, while also being satisfyingly sticky and starchy. I adore salmon so, for me, my favourites were the salmon nigiri and salmon sashimi. Our food came with several knobs of wasabi, which I enjoyed smearing on the salmon rolls and tuna rolls to give them some extra heat, and we got four sachets of soy sauce that I used to dunk my nigiri in. (If you’re like me and enjoy lots of soy sauce, I’d recommend having a bottle on standby because four sachets wasn’t really enough for two of us. We got a pretty generous portion of edamame and it’s always fun to bite the beans straight out of the pod to eat. The sushi was attractively presented in boxes with clear lids to show off the neatly prepared and colourful contents, and was even more beautiful eaten nyotaimori-style. Our food took about half an hour to arrive, was reasonably priced and was surprisingly filling. Chopsticks are provided if you’re feeling adventurous, or do like the Japanese do and simply eat it with your fingers. Sushi Bar Makoto is a hidden gem in west London and one you should truly try."

"Visited Syon Lounge with friends and had a mixed experience. The food was generally good, but the steak was disappointingly salty. On a positive note, the dessert was a delightful treat. One downside was the limited red wine options and surprisingly no Merlot available. This was unexpected and slightly disappointing. Additionally, there was no explanation that the menu could be accessed via a barcode on the table. The absence of a payment option on the app raised questions about the purpose of having a menu without a convenient payment method. The atmosphere was decent, although it tended to get overcrowded. Luckily, there was ample space to move around comfortably. The evening entertainment featuring belly dancers added a unique and enjoyable element. The shisha experience was pleasing, offering a variety of flavorful options and the coal was consistently replenished. However, the two-hour time limit was a drawback. As soon as our time was up, the bill was promptly placed on the table, which felt a bit rushed. Keep this in mind if you plan to stay longer than two hours. On a positive note, the availability of free parking was a convenient perk for those traveling by car. In conclusion, Syon Lounge is a nice place to enjoy with friends, offering good food, shisha and entertainment. Just be aware of the time limit if you prefer a more leisurely experience. "I am going to give a Four as overall the food deserved the score however elements of the service could have bought the score down. We booked in for a late Sunday lunch at 4 pm but were assured on the phone that it would still be available. Once sat down we were told there were limited portions of Lamb and Pork available but as we ordered straight away we could have them. 10 minutes later the waiter came back and said sorry they had all gone but they did have Beef left so three of us ordered this. The meals were then served but without Yorkshires, despite the description on the menu including. We asked where the Yorkshires were and the waiter went away and came back 5 minutes later to say they had run out of them even though a simple batter mix is easy to make. As we are from Yorkshire this was very disappointing and with the meat situation and this we may have ordered something else off the menu of we had known. The beef was well cooked and the majority of the vegetables good but the Roast Potatoes were smothered in Garlic and maybe too much for the majority of people. One of our party had the Lamb Rogan Josh and said it was excellent. The Fullers beers were well kept but the Sticky Toffee Pudding was not the best and they had put chocolate sauce on it too, even though this was not mentioned in the menu description. So maybe 4 is too high and 3.5 should be better but i am trying to put the facts over. The other food coming out of the kitchen looked good and maybe the waiter was just trying to get rid of the last of the roast beef!"
