"Wir waren zu zweit zum Abendessen und entschieden uns für ein Gericht und einigten uns darauf, ein Chateaubriand-Steak für zwei Personen zu teilen. Es wurde perfekt gegrillt, mit Schweizer Rindfleisch, weich, innen selten, saftig und lecker. Das Steak kam mit perfekt zubereiteten Kartoffelpommes, ausgezeichneter Sauce Bearnaise und gekochtem Endivien. Der Oberkellner hat uns zu Schweizer Rotweinen befragt, ein Thema, das ich leider nicht kenne. Er schlug eine Flasche vor, die auf einer Mischung lokaler Rebsorten basiert, die an anderer Stelle fehlen, und die sich als köstlich, komplex und äußerst befriedigend herausstellte. Der Ort ist nicht billig, aber kein gutes Schweizer Restaurant ist billig, und es ist nur einen kurzen Spaziergang den Hang hinauf vom Hauptbahnhof von Lausanne entfernt. Selbst wenn Sie umsteigen oder was auch immer, und einen guten Platz zum Essen brauchen, wird dieser Platz empfohlen."

OK, das ist ein guter Punkt aus dem Weg.Das Problem, das ich habe (eines von vielen), mit Restaurants, die ihre Küche multi Aufgaben sind, dass mehr als oft nicht, liefern sie auf keine Küche. Die Portionen waren großzügig und es ist ein bisschen lustig, eine chinesische Vorspeise und eine thailändische Hauptmahlzeit zu bestellen.Leider war meine Vorspeise der Knödel langweilig und nicht meine Geschmacksknospen für das nächste Gericht, wie man es mit asiatischen Speisen erwarten würde. Das thailändische Hauptgericht Rindfleisch Massaman Curry war so eine Enttäuschung. Keine Gewürze, zähe Rinderstreifen, mit undankbaren Stücken, die Blut in die Currysauce gießen. Mein Partner bestellte Pad Thai, und es war sehr salzig und es mangelte an Geschmack.Man kann sich nicht an dem Service bemängeln, und andere Gäste haben ihr Essen genossen, aber für uns, die asiatisches Essen lieben, hat es das Ziel verfehlt. Preisgünstig aber."

"This note concerns two experiences we had with Java between December 2022 and January 2023. During our first visit, we came without a reservation for lunch because my partner is gluten intolerant and they have adapted cuisine. We arrive, a very friendly waitress offers to seat us upstairs and will take care of us for almost the entire meal. We order a truffle risotto as well as the poultry ballotine also accompanied by Risotto. I also take this opportunity to ask the question if it is possible to make sweet pancakes with buckwheat flour (gluten free) and we are confirmed that yes, it is a recurring request, no problem. The dishes arrive but unfortunately the risottos are almost raw and therefore inedible. We therefore reported it to our friendly waitress who quickly brought the dishes back to the kitchen and came back to confirm that she had tasted it and indeed, it was much more than al dente. We joke about it, it happens, no worries. We waited a bit and were served again. Both dishes were very good this time, nothing to add. We therefore order a buckwheat crepe for dessert, once again specifying the gluten allergy. We receive our dessert from another waiter and I notice (luckily for them, before tasting) that the color is too light to be buckwheat. So I call the waiter to ask the question, he is not sure and goes to our first waitress who apologizes, she forgot to specify this in the kitchen. How to put it... we 're trying to put things into perspective but it could have been catastrophic. We then eat the pancake, very good, and ask for a coffee and the bill. Not a single commercial gesture, not even on coffee... it 's not obligatory but it would have been the least we could do... But it was good, so we come out saying that it 's the weekend, relax. So we 're enjoying the experience this weekend. We arrive again to eat without a reservation, but it 's not crowded at all, the waiter tells us that we can go up and sit down (alone). After 15 minutes of waiting, we still saw no one approach our table while we saw the waiter who brought us in snacking downstairs between 2 coffees for the customers. We tell ourselves that he has forgotten and my companion approaches the railing to kindly wave to him. His only answer? "

"I came here because Ticino was recommended by my hotel for a simple meal les gens sont sympas . I ordered a salade niçoise and a 10cl carafe of merlot rosé; this set me back the equivalent of $30US. The wine was forgettable and the salad was kind of average. There was cigarette smoke wafting through the place most of the time when I was there. The personnel are definitely sympa but I won 't be a repeat customer."

"We went for the Sanglier (hunted boar) dinner. The price per person was 69 CHF (drinks not included). So we expected to get enough of the hunted meat for this price as the concept was to eat as much as you want, they would always renew your plate. But what happened was we were getting a new plate full of so called garnitures of hunted meat , but never a proper piece of meat. We were basically eating only red cabbage, chestnut, broccoli and spätzli! The photo explains it all! Long story short- it was a scam!"

"We went there for dinner on a week-day. The restaurant is located in an old house in the centre of Prangins. The atmosphere of the dining room is warm and friendly, the tables are well separated from each other. The eggplant mille-feuilles for starter was very savory and well prepared; the faux-filet aux airelles was spectacular, perfectly cooked meat, and the baba au rhum was delicious and very generous with the rhum. The best, however, was the service, very friendly and welcoming but not intrusive. The wine list is of good quality. We will be back, for sure."

"We ate at two of the restaurants during our stay. The first was the Brasserie. This is their average restaurant, or the one you go to for breakfast or lunch. We did breakfast as we paid for that to be included in advance. Remember there is a currency exchange, so that was the most sensible. Now back to the food. The breakfast was exquisite. I am a coffee drinker, and as many know they coffee is richer overseas. I started almost every morning with a coffee and espresso. The breakfast was both order off a menu and buffet. Fresh meats, breads, cheese, yogurt, fruit, eggs, champagne, you name it, you could have it. Every breakfast we say overlooking the Rhine River. It could not have been more stunning. Oh wait, we didn't get to the dinner yet."

"Having lived in Switzerland for 4 years, I am always looking for amazing restaurants and a hidden gem! This restaurant does not disappoint! It's a small menu but everything they make tastes amazing. I had the menu of the day, which consisted of foie gras and a side salad, filet mignon of beef with a red peppercorn sauce, with mashed potatoes and roasted carrots, and crime brûlée. We had an amazing red Bordeaux to go along with the meal. My friend, Jared thinks the lighting is there but the overhead needs to go. He thought the meal was delicious and that the beef was really tender. He had the pastis for an apero and thought it was really tasty. My friend Stephanie didn't like the Colombo Fr orange but it was a bit too alcoholic for her taste. Her main was the vegetable curry was delicious. The creme du brûlée was licked off her plate!"

"I ordered a chicken entree. My significant other ordered a beef entree. We both also ordered soups, and had fries, vegetables and salad as part of the entrees. "the food was good and so was the service. we enjoyed four of the small plate options and enjoyed them all, especially the skewered tofu. the small plate part size is small, so if hungry, err on the side of the order more. the restaurant is located in the second floor of a reclining and has a charm of the old world in its sensitivity. the restaurant has been in business since 1958. the service was excellent. because we don't speak French, the server called another employee (owner? who spoke our language to check if it had taken our order right. note: an article in the menu listed as smashed kichererbsen is hummus updated by previous review on 2021-10-01"
