"(things to improve) by not being able to go to a braseria that we wanted to visit, with much skepticism we arrived at this restaurant. typical restaurant playing beach and with chiringuito terrace where you see the menu cards with Spanish banderitas or in English or French, which is usually bad sign as you know that it is bad food that will be destined to sneak into the cocktail tourist but all the opposite! correct service for all the waiters and delays. rebounded squids are really repeating and going specifically to the scale to ask only that. a light and crispy friction, and fresh product, really that marvels 10/10. the very good mussels of taste, nothing of the other world but completely acceptable and would repeat without doubt. Finally the absolutely delicious coconut, I ordered it well marked and crude inside, came as I asked. as it was a restaurant that plays the beach expected the worst, typical very fine coconut with a lot of fat but on the contrary, I find a piece of 500gr of almost 4 fingers thick, with its fat salt in the quantity perfeca, and with very good home potatoes. also congratulate the one who was in the coals, came out perfect and for less than 20€. The only sticks, when we went there were 3 tables eating, it gives me the feeling that if there were more people the service could have gotten worse and delayed, as well as there are restaurants that can get in time with any number of customers, here I have not had that feeling. "First of all, we ate here 3 times because the ambience of the city and the trio of three restaurants next to each other are very nice and cozy. The food is delicious, but also depends on the day. Unfortunately, the service is not customer-oriented and courteous. We made reservations well in advance on all 3 days. When we were allocated a table for the second time in the passage (a lot of hectic activity), we kindly asked for another table as there were two more tables for 4 available. This was too much for the man at reception and he immediately rejected it. In addition, there was no waiter responsible for us, everyone served everyone else. It's annoying when another waiter asks you for a café for the fourth time. If you have just finished eating and are still chewing the last bite, you don't ask for dessert, but wait a few minutes. Unfortunately the service is just not good. The waiter with the glasses is the only one who knows his job very well and works efficiently and calmly. "We chose this restaurant because of the good reviews. We didn't like the food that much. My Teriaki Chicken was swimming in fat. The vegetables and the fries were also rather mushy. The fois mi-cuit as a starter was ok but the apples were caramelized with far too much sugar. It's a shame, because it completely obscured the taste of the goose liver. The service was friendly and the restaurant was quite pleasant. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing but we wouldn't eat there again. "This is our 5th visit to Cala Montgo and meal at Sibaris. We enjoyed the food which was good quality which I would give 5 stars. Unfortunately the service we received was poor. The restaurant was full and we waited 45 mins after ordering our meal before it arrived which we felt was a long time . We were a little bemused as several of the Spanish guest’s who arrived after us were being served similar meals sometime before us. We ordered additional drinks to our meal and after waiting a considerable time we reminded the head waitress , who gave us a curt response, saying we would get them if we had requested them. We never did get our drinks.! We are respectful to everyone whichever country we visit. We are disappointed with the experience we had and will be reluctant to return because of this unfriendly experience. We remember when we visited Sibaris several years ago when the restaurant was managed seemingly by the heads of the family which was always a positive and friendly experience."

"Was very much looking forward to eating here after getting a high recommendation from a hotel in Barcelona and then reading reviews online. Unfortunately we were pretty disappointed. We chose the 22 euro lunch but replaced one of the mains with a separate main off a different menu. We ordered one beef carpaccio and one melon soup as starters. When melon soup arrived there was a little bug in it. Upon pointing it out the waiter apologized and returned it with another one. It pretty much tasted like melon water with a lime sorbet on it. The carpaccio was served with pesto sauce and fresh , cheese which was good. Next for mains I ordered the slow cooked beef with truffle husband ordered his main from the separate menu (for a little extra) which was the tuna carpaccio. What the waiter failed to tell us was that both carpaccios (beef and tuna) would be served with exactly the same toppings! My main dish was quite fatty and was served with mushrooms that were almost raw and had no taste. The sauce was salty and more like a brown sauce mixed with mashed potato?! Then came dessert. I had ordered the cheese with walnuts and honey that was pretty good. Fresh soft local cheese and the honey and walnuts were served separately to be topped as you like. Nothing to complain about here. Husband had the white chocolate served with strawberry sorbet and foam? Which he discovered upon eating also had a small fruit fly in it. Quality control here not great. We were eating outside so I know flies can get in but these were clearly present when the dishes arrived. It was returned and they brought another one aside from the bug, there was no balance to this dessert. The white chocolate looked like mayonnaise and took over the dish. Some citrus, herbs or nuts would have added some extra texture/cut the sweetness. We both felt the bread and olive oil was the best part of our meal here. The maître d never apologized or spoke of the bug incident or offered to compensate us in any way either. Also heads up that the menu is really not vegetarian friendly. Wouldn’t go out of your way to eat here like we did. We ate so much better in Cadaques and Girona for way less. Don’t be fooled by the whole gastronomic experience it’s all hot air and little substance here."

"Having eaten in what feels like every mediocre restaurant in L’Escala over the past decades I can honestly say this restaurant is an absolute gem. Wonderfully attentive service, lovely setting away from the crowds yet in the heart of the old town, and the food is absolutely delicious. Great tapas menu. All the dishes we tried including the prawns, meatballs, chicken, steak, asparagus and patatas were all beautifully presented and tasted fabulous. The service and attention to detail is impeccable. We sat outside very comfortably. Everything so clean and perfect inside too. If I could give 10 stars I would. Prices very reasonable too! We will definitely be making this our regular please whenever we are in town. Thank you for a lovely evening we will be back soon. Highly recommend Jardi de Pedra!!! A must when you are in L’Escala!!"

"Came here because every other place was full for lunch and they made space for us. What a lucky find. The staff speak Spanish and broken French and English, so communication was fun! The food was exceptional, a fabulous paella, and the tuna tataki was an experience that we haven't had since Willoughbys. Everything reasonably priced and some great, again reasonably priced, wine. For desert we had a cheesecake, a Catallonian croissant and an apple tart in, all fabulous. If you are here I'd strongly recommend supporting this family owned and run establishment. I'll definitely be back"

"If you don 't like sea food, don 't eat here or don 't eat what we have eaten. Maybe we had bad lack or just this bar should not be serving Italian food. Carbona is definitely not a carbonara, but a bought pasta with flour sauce. pizza, well, edible, but I wouldn 't call it a pizza either. they should definitely rename dishes on the menu so as not to confuse people. nice service, therefore two stars ."

"Es un sitio con una estrella Michelín, bastante caro pero proponen un menú económico para que sea accesible a todos los bolsillos(40 euros por persona con un entrante, un principal, un postre y agua) , para nosotros la comida no estuvo mal pero pensamos que nos iba a encantar. El entrante era un canelon de bonito que tenía mayonesa por debajo, por dentro y por encima y al no gustarle la mayonesa a mi marido me tuve que comer los 2 y casi muero. El principal de mi marido era una pierna de cordero que se asentaba en mayonesa y mi principal era un wok de chpirones encima de una tortita y con una especie de alioli como salsa,la base de las verduras era muy amarga. De todas formas estaban ricos. Los Postres fueron sin dudarlo lo mejor de la noche, exquisitos."

"Fuimos siete amigos donde probamos el menú origens de fin de semana, y realmente salimos encantados. Como entrantes habí langostinos al ajillo, zamburiñas al horno y calamares a la andaluza y cada cuál era más bueno que el anterior, estaba realmente riquísimo y bien de cantidad. De plato principal teníamos arroz marinero y estaba perfecto, todo en su punto y bien de cantidad, incluso nos dió para repetir, sabrosisimo! De postre tuve el placer de probar el siempre bueno cheese cake y el brownie, ambos excelentes. Y si lo acompañas todo con buenas vistas y un buen servicio, te queda una perfecta comida de domingo, y todo por 38€. Nada mal. Está entre las mejores valoraciones de l’Escala y creo que con razón."

"Sembla que es queda a mig gas. Ens vam deixar endur per les ressenyes i hem tingut mal sort. Les croquetes de pernil congelades, les segones sense més, les pots trobar a un super i molt més barates. L’amanida de formatge de cabra semblava mitja ració pel preu que té i l’entrecot soso amb unes patates al caliu que no ho eren. Les postres encara les esperem. No sabem si s’han vist sobre-passats per la gran afluència de gent, però no és excusa. Preus totalment turístics, ja que no anava acompanyat de qualitat. El servei molt correcte i menció especial per les patates d’Olot, boníssimes."

"We were recommended this bad by a local, and it didn't disappoint at all. Indeed, we visited it twice during our holidays. Our friend told us the calamari are outstanding, and it is absolutely true, one of the best I have eaten. The octopus is also a great choice. We would also recommend the anchovies with bread with no hesitation. On the second day, we combined the tapas with one of those large sandwiches. Amazing choice. The only dish that I wouldn't recommend, of those among I tried, is eggs with chips. It was supposed to be properly mixed, but they served fried egg together with chips. And the egg was so fried that you weren't able to mix it as usual. All in all, a great place to taste Catalan food at a very reasonable price: 3 tapas 2 deserts beer was 35€, 3 tapas large sandwich bottle of wine was 39€. Worth a visit!"

"Este encantador restaurante familiar fue nuestro descubrimiento culinario favorito durante 10 días en la Costa Brava. El menú degustación por 39 euros superó todas nuestras expectativas. Los platos de pescado estaban muy bien pensados, deliciosos, creativos, preparados de forma sostenible y con recomendaciones de vinos perfectas a precios justos y razonables. Cada curso fue explicado en detalle si así lo solicitaba, ofreciendo una nueva sorpresa. La noche siguiente, inmediatamente hicimos otra reserva y disfrutamos del menú de gama media, una vez más sorprendiéndonos con una variedad increíble y al mismo tiempo revisando nuestros favoritos de la tarde anterior. Cada persona del equipo es increíblemente amigable, cálida y profundamente conectada con la tradición culinaria española. Volveríamos a L'Escala solo para cenar aquí de nuevo.
