"Booked the day before, we arrive a little late, no worries for the welcome which was charming: First glances, the dining room is cozy, the armchairs cute, the restaurant decor is trendy. Low volume music giving the nice soundscape. The starters were as tasty as they were well presented, even a little surprise in the association of tastes. The dishes, more traditional, were very well made, no errors in cooking or seasoning, the sauces highlighting the meat well, and the effort of presentation always welcome. The wine advice was perfect, my glass of Corsican wine was even surprising and went wonderfully with my beef. We were able to taste only one dessert, because we had eaten well before, the chocolate cake was very good as well as the accompanying vanilla ice cream. The coffee even if it's a detail was served in pretty cups, ending the meal on a warm note : We can only recommend this restaurant, both for the cozy atmosphere and the delicious food : (Original Reserved, the day before, we arrive a little late, no worries for the welcome that was charming : First look, the room is cozy, the cute chairs, the decor of the restaurant is trendy. "Situated conveniently between the Auction House, Opera House and station, on a quiet side street. The front of the restaurant opens out completely so on a warn day ask for a table near to the front of the restaurant or seek the shade further inside. The menu midi at 13 EU including wine or coffee (!) is about the market price for local customers wanting a working lunch and the quality is outstanding. The front of house staff are not only welcoming they are positively charming, attentive and efficient. The bar has a 50's retro style, very well executed. Its been full every time I have eaten there and there is a happy customer buzz. The customer base is mainly local working people, but also ladies who lunch and families too - some with small babies in prams which are happily accommodated. Because its off the beaten track the casual traveller is unlikely to stumble across it but its worth seeking out. The food is typically French bistro. Well cooked and presented. The entrees of salad de gesiers is one of the best I have ordered, and the cucumber salad with blue cheese and nuts is addictive. There are a good choice of main courses even at lunchtime. Try the tete de veau in a light sauce - its a regional speciality - its delicious or ail de rai (skate) with capers in black butter sauce. If you are very hungry order the whole camembert which comes with a healthy portion of locally cured ham and chips !!! Or order one to share with a carafe of cold rose wine. If you still have room for pudding, try the verrine au citron, (home-made lemon meringue pie in a glass) but in truth all of the puds are mouth watering. When we cant choose we often order two and share half and half !."
