"A Lübeck visit without visiting the Café Niederegger is not possible, even if this is an absolute tourist hotspot. Apart from that, we had a shopping list, and several Daheimgebliebene wanted to give away at Christmas Lübecker Marzipan. And there's only a huge selection here. Thanks to Corona neither shop nor the café on the 1st floor were overflowing. No crowds, no bumps and pushes, as can be read in many reviews, relaxed shopping and even more relaxed café visits were announced. Here again precise checking of the vaccination and identification papers at the end of the stairs, in front of the café. There were actually some free tables where we could choose. The serviceman said at a later point in time that it was not really exhausted this afternoon, that it was used to quite different crowds of guests. Great, we were really lucky! We took place near the cake counter and looked around first: a cafe with large windows and a dense coffee house atmosphere and a beautiful view of the town hall when you have a window. Dear AndiH, you will probably see text passages over the cakes and pictures again, but I cannot save them to you! I was fascinated by the great offer on the ground floor. Above all, there are those who want to enjoy the cakes and cakes at home. Also here there are no mohren heads or Negerküsse anymore, here are the corresponding treats called Othello heads. And here in the café, of course, I went to the cake counter immediately. The selection of cakes was very large and one looked better than the next. Here you will be seduced to sin! So the selection was very difficult, I would like to try different cakes or cakes. I finally chose a piece of champagne cake for 3,80 €, as I had never tasted such one, and a coffee for 2,70 €. Yes, yes, proud prices! My friend, an absolute Marzipan fan, naturally chose something with a lot of marzipan (3,80 € , which would be a too dry cake for me, plus a milk coffee for 4,00 €. Flott and friendly was our service lady, she quickly brought the wish to us, wished us a lot of fun at the pie enjoyment and then we had both, my friend especially by the many marzipan. She was thrilled! Also my champagne cakes was a pleasure, very sweet and creamy, very rich in calories (Thanks to my hips God is nothing, very saturating, just heavenly! Too bad you can only eat a piece of this kind of cake. We didn't have to wait long for our bill too (I didn't find it at home unfortunately). Of course you pay a lot of money and of course you pay for the name. For us it was definitely worth a visit at that time. And then we were able to complete our shopping list without any pressure."

"I had booked a weekend at Holiday Inn in Lübeck. View the city and then take a trip to the baths of the Lübeck bay were planned from here. In addition to the obligatory breakfast buffet, the arrangement also included a three-course menu on one evening. At check in we were asked for our request and time for reservation. We chose the second evening of our stay, on the first day we wanted to conquer Lübeck until the evening. Steamed light and carpet in the Schottenkaro as in the hotel bar next door. The lady at the entrance looked into her list and led us to the reserved table. Here a tealight burned in a holder and on the napkins the name cooking was to be seen in a kind of potato printing. We were informed by another young lady about the course of the menu. After the Mango coconut soup, pork should follow with croquettes where I had to hook in and ask for a vegetarian variant. Fish liked, but no meat she answered professionally I like to ask in the kitchen. We used the wine card and ordered the Grau Burgunder with a bottle of water. From the kitchen came the good news that we could serve a red bee fillet on rice or with gratin. We chose both rice with stewed vegetables. The wine was brought in a cooler and asked who wants to try. Simply perfect the service, you noticed in the first minutes of your stay. We got a basket with super fresh bread served with the hint of the oil and the coarse salt on the table. A short time later, the soup was brought to the table in a soup cup. Finely ally and a really very light sharpness (gwer? , at least she really tasted excellent, a good start. The service asked in between whether it is allowed to drink wine and also otherwise we felt well disposed. Our main court came about 10 minutes later. Very nicely decorated there were two fillets draped on rice with the swollen vegetables. It was just delicious. The fish is perfect on the point, neither too dry nor too dry. The rice under it had a slightly sweet note, so it came to my palate anyway. Oh, and the vegetables, paprika, Zuccini and Aubergine cooked exactly to the point. I know this from my own kitchen, how quickly it gets too soft. Here, however, all these vegetables with light bite were wonderful without being hard. Tastefully a perfect composition, at least for my vegetarian palate. After that, there was a feeling of saturation. The wine was a perfect companion, although I had the 11° Fish from the map would have liked to try. The service asked if we wanted to wait something with the dessert very attentive, we found. We also agreed on a quarter of a day and after time we got a round plate, in the middle a glass with a cream. All around, raspberries, currants, physalis, almonds were draped in marzipan coat and Krokant. Quite different taste experiences for the palate and yet everything fits very well. We were thrilled and not just dessert! For water and wine I paid about 28 euros. The menu was included in the total price of the weekly arrangement and therefore no information is possible here. I can therefore only make a note here that I could derive from the menu."

"Every year, a friend and I visit a Christmas market in a city we don't know yet. The lockdown from November 2020, however, made us a proper line through the bill, so that we were only able to control the city of Lübeck last November. A few weeks before, I wrote to our GG-journey NoTeaForMe and asked him for advice and recommendations for visiting good restaurants and cafes in Lübeck. He did this very well and competently. Thank you very much at this point! Based on his recommendations, I booked 3 restaurants for the evening from home, among others the restaurant Schiffergesellschaft (primarily because of the ambience, because we wanted fish and/or traditional/natural. For all 3 we received very fast written promises, for the 4th and last night we wanted to explore spontaneously for a restaurant on site. The impressive brick building is very central in the middle of the Touri mile and now very close to the Giant Wheel during the Christmas market. Looks great! GG-Kollege First wrote in his review very nicely to the historical background of this house, so I can save it at this point. The “Schiffergesellschaft” is naturally unbeatable from the ambience, wrote NoTeaForMe. And that's so true! We have a faible for historic houses with original interior, even if the risk of landing in a tour hall is relatively high. But we wanted to get that. When we entered the restaurant at about 6.30 p.m., the mandatory checks were carried out conscientiously, the mouthguard of the employees did not slip under the nose, all Corona rules were observed. A service lady led us through the front room, the historic hall, decorated with wonderful relics of the past centuries, past long, massive tables and benches to our table on the left. If all places are occupied here, it may be quite loud. This was today corona-based God, thank you, not the case. About 50 of the tables were occupied when we left, it became a bit full. Our table The menu came quite fast and as we always order the same drinks for food, we were able to express our wishes immediately, 0.2 l mineral water for 2,90 € for my girlfriend and 0.5 l alcohol-free wheat for sporting 5,50 €. Also the food selection was done quickly. Tonight it should be fish: For me the Great Plalle, for my friend the Pannfisch. The drinks came to us quickly and appropriately tempered. During the waiting period we looked around a little. The atmosphere is welcoming with historical murals and hanging ship models, impressive nautical ambience with much dark wood. This makes it relatively dark inside, but this brings us closer to the seafarer atmosphere. After a reasonable waiting period, our food unfortunately did not come at the same time, I had to wait for more minutes while my friend began to dedicate panfish from trout and nautical salmon with joy to their pann fish. And after the first bites she expressed herself positively: well seasoned, self-taste present, inside still glazed, she was satisfied. The roast potatoes and the mixed supplement salad also told her. The very great enthusiasm and the very great praise (as in the following evening in the freshly caught, however. When my plaice finally stood before me, one could actually say: That's a big piece! First disappointment: the plate was cold! Second disappointment: The fish too! Only the part along the Grats was a bit warm. Probably someone in the kitchen or at the pass had no vision. I think the two foods were ready at the same time, only my plaice probably stood around in the stupid area and waited for a ride. I tried the salt potatoes and the salad that arrived before the plaice. Salt potatoes not special, keep potatoes cooked in salt water. The mixed salad of various ingredients, a slightly acidic yogurt dressing that lacked a bit of honey or other sweetness. Altogether too much in the small bowl and therefore not necessarily to eat tack-free. Back to the fish. The serviceman who accompanied us at first went from table to table and asked the guests about their satisfaction. Like us. I hadn't even eaten a quarter of the fish yet and I told her why not. She reacted completely customer-oriented and immediately gave me a new plaice. Despite my fears of having to wait for a long time, I agreed (I was of course not satisfied . Scholle then came quite fast, actually on a hot plate, with crispy panade, all a bit weakly spiced, a bit too long in the pan, the bacon still a bit soft. I forgot to photograph the 2nd plaice, because a hot fish was more important to me. Overall, food was certainly not bad, but do not stop revelation. And of course, tourists are here in this restaurant the main clientele, but tourist trap I would not necessarily say here, because the service has acted very customer-oriented. And I find the price for the food quite suitable, with my local favorite Greek, who always offers fresh fish on Wednesdays, I pay the same price. And if you're in Lübeck, you just have to go here as a tourist to enjoy the great ambience."
