"I hadn't been here for around 7 years but regularly went when I was younger and it was allways nice food and pleasant staff however this time we still had pleasant staff and the resturant inside is a nice place to sit and enjoy a meal but the food itself wasn't the best we had nachos wich where just very basic nothing special I would never put cheddar on nachos unless it was a mixed blend with mozzarella this was just cheddar not fully melted either but cheese and crisps is what it is not offensive probably the best part of the meal. I ordered a Greek kebab chicken pork Greek sausage with rice bread salad and chips. Food was piping hot but all the meat was soo so dry the rice was nice bread over toasted basiclly a crisp chips where good salad not so much far to much olive oil. Onion rings side where the best part of the meal for me. My partner has empire state burger he said it was really dry and pretty bland not enough sauce for a burger of that size. I didn't really enjoy my cocktail so moved on to a bottle of wine wich was awful kissing tree white zinfandel was really hard to drink even with the glass of lemonade i brought to add to it. Anyway we decided to try a dessert I got a truckers nut cream chocolate icecream I think its called wich I barley touched as the nuts where so bitter almost tasted burnt we ate as much as we could so that we didn't go home hungry but we won't return the menu really needs updating it's so old and outdated now and that might even be okay if it was cooked well but they need a new chef I felt like I was watching a Gordon Ramsey programme its just so outdated and needs a new chef however the staff was lovely and we did have a great laugh because the food was so bad we laughed out way through it so I still had a good night for wich I paid and left a tip but the one tip this place needs is new chef and updated menus and as lovely as all the staff are I hope they take that on board"

"Experience was good, server was accommodating and restaurant honoured requests to accommodate mobility issues. The length of time between courses was quite lengthy. Food was good, but apart from a couple of crackers on the table (considering it was a festive menu) it wasn’t very festive at all. Parking: Decent amount of parking, although you might struggle if it’s busy. Must remember to add number plate to the device inside the restaurant to avoid a fine."

"Highlights: Booked the Christmas Lunch menu for 8 people, Pre Ordered. Arrived and no Christmas Lunch was available. Ordered from the Sunday Lunch menu instead. Waited ages for the food, which did not come out at the same time. Quality of the food was actually good but it 's not an experience I wish to repeat. Complained numerous times. No idea who was responsible probably never find out. 5 weeks ago I made a phone booking for 8 people for the Christmas Lunch menu. I visited in person 3 weeks ago with a Pre Order of our food choices and provided written confirmation of the booking (and paid a £10 per head deposit . Imagine my surprise when I turned up to find we would not be provided any of the Christmas lunch we had ordered. The reason the Kitchen (which is run as a separate business!! had recently been changed to new management. I enquired why had nobody thought to contact me after all I have provided a written booking well according to the Bar Manager that was someone 's fault but not hers, but she would investigate. We were offered the Sunday Lunch menu instead. We asked to see the menu and had a mobile phone thrust forward as, at the time, they hadn 't got any physical menu 's. The starters were all fish seafood related. 3 of the party decided to select the white bait. We wanted to order our Mains at the same time but the Server never came back. After waiting 40 minutes I returned to the Bar Manager and asked why we were waiting so long. She visited the Kitchen and was told they were just plating them up, and they did arrive shortly thereafter. After Starters were consumed we were able to order our Mains. We feared this may also take some time to appear...and we weren 't disappointed. About 40 minutes later the Server came out with one meal, and we had high hopes the remaining 7 meals would come out rapidly thereafter. No, but another table did receive their order. Our 'lucky ' diner almost finished their meal before the rest of us were able to start to enjoy ours. 15 minutes from 1st meal to last meal. The Roast we had was good quality, well cooked and extensive. If we wanted Salt, Pepper, Napkins, Sauces etc that wasn 't on offer, but available if we asked! We had intended to have a Desert but as we 'd already been there 2 hours and none of us could stand the thought of waiting another prolonged period for the final course we decided to call it a day. I returned to the Bar and asked for an itemised Bar bill, which I got and checked, and paid it. When I turned around the Server was next to me thrusting her card reader at me. I said I wanted an itemised bill and she disappeared. When she re appeared she had written the items we had ordered on her pad and the prices for each. I agreed to pay some of the Food bill (2 3rds but not the full bill. I explained the reasons for my decision to the Server and the Bar Manager. In view of the issues I experienced I asked to speak to the Owner. I was told he was not available so I asked if he would call me to discuss my experience, hence I have waited 2 days expectantly for his call before publishing this review. I 'm pretty certain that I 'll never get a call but I wouldn 't be surprised if he replies to this review with some rubbish. If anyone has ever visited a pub restaurant where you are told they operate as 2 separate businesses please let me know...and I 'll avoid it like the plague!"

"We were ladies alone but treated respectfully, and even though there were lots of men, probably from football, having a pint or two, we weren't disturbed and having to pop along to the bathroom was uneventful and acted like gentlemen which was nice The food was alright, l suppose. The roast potatoes were really disappointing and not particularly nice nor roasted, or crunchy as rosties should be but the vegan desert (sticky toffee pudding) was really hard and microwaved to an inch of its life and the vegan custard lumpy and tasteless It's a shame, but l can not even remember what food we'd ordered as it was that uneventful even though it was a Sunday lunch . It's sad as it's got a good view and its own carpalrk Our server was really nice and patient and helpful"

"Part of a large party of people on a Saturday night, organiser book for 14 even tho 16 of us ?? .. the restaurant were fab , on it straight away moved a couple of guests rearranged a both divide and very quickly had the problem resolved. The whole place is run like clockwork, we were 1 large party amongst 6 or 7 other large bookings but you'd never know. Owners obviously employ the right amount of staff to cover the needs, rather than heaping more on a reduced number of staff .. I As a caterer I was very impressed, the food was all served quickly and without delays and was of a good standard and amount . Overall ..VERY IMPRESSED. . From management to all the staff , your doing a great job ."

"Appalling! We were greeted by someone who claimed to be the manager, but her appearance and attitude suggested otherwise. She was incredibly rude to the staff, who were much more professional than she was. The food and service were mediocre, and we couldn't help but wonder if we were being pranked. Unfortunately, the bill confirmed that it was not a joke, as it was ridiculously overpriced. Be sure to check out the bar prices and menu before making a reservation, as it feels like daylight robbery. I suspect the positive rating is from family and friends. Avoid this place at all costs!"

"We went into the restaurant about 19:00 shown to a table very quickly then the waiter practically throw cutlery and on the table and just kinda pushed it at us with out saying much, along with the menus, the final straw was when the just kinda slapped the napkins on the table at this point we walked out and went to the restaurant over the road and had an amazing service and meal Service: Dine in"

"Lovely dining experience with my family. The restaurant is exactly like the pictures, the tables all have a good space between them and the windows bring in a lot of natural light. The food we had here was fantastic. The all you can eat menu is very good with a restriction on how many dishes you can order each time (something like 4 dishes for 2 people, 5 for 3, 6 for 4-5 etc. . All of the dishes are small but come out at the same time. Once eaten you can order everything again if you want and it all comes out fresh and hot. Perfect! We ordered most of the appetizers and everything was delicious. Not a single dish we left. The pork dumplings were one of my favourites but there were so many it was hard to pick! The food is mainly served sharing style, so that everyone can have a try. The service was pretty good, we had to flag someone down a few times but it was quite busy so that isn't a problem. The bathroom is upstairs, which may make it harder to visit for some people. Parking can be a little tricky. There is on street parking outside but it fills up quickly. There is a carpark around a 5 minute walk away. Overall it is a lovely restaurant and I can see why everyone raves about it!"

"We used to rate the Taj highly. But not after our latest visit. In a nutshell, to save you reading further, the staff were disinterested and rarely left the counter. The manager took umbrage at being asked to replace a bad drink. And the food was neither tasty nor hot. We arrived at 6.30 and the place was empty. As the manager passed I pointed out that my bottle of Sparkling Water was totally flat. We said it was Sparkling because it said so on the label and I'd got what I ordered. He then said that I'd opened it and poured it so I'd accepted it. And it wasn't his fault that there were no bubbles. He said if we wanted to leave that was OK. It seemed that unhapppy customers leaving didn't faze him. However my bottle was grudgingly replaced with a good one. The staff, and manager, appeared to be completely disinterested in what they were doing. They just went through the motions. It was really odd. The menu hails the great Chef Abdul. It must have been his day off. Sauces from supermarket bottles are better than those we had. We all commented that our meals were neither tasty nor spicy. And not heat-hot. It pains me to write a damning review but this place needs a wake-up call. We'd love to see it get back to what it used to be."

"Contrary to the last review which seems unbelievably written without having actually visited the pub, I can assure you all that this pub is still going strong. As a regular, I can inform those interested that the beer range is now enhanced with up to...9 craft keg beers as well as cask. Freshly prepared Sunday roasts are 2 for £8.95 and represent great value for money. The landlord now supports live music with up to 4 gigs a week which has revitalised the pub at a time when so many are closing. B&B is now also a key part of it's success. So rather than critise a pub without actually visiting, pop in, and enjoy this great, friendly backstreet boozer. (PS The kitchen was given a clean bill of health when revisited but Medway Council demanded £180 to rescore it"

"Don’t believe everything you read on here, the staff were brilliant and the service for breakfast was excellent. We knew it was likely to be quite a ‘lively’ place to stay while going to a wedding at the cathedral and frankly wondered if we had made a mistake when reading the awful reviews about staff/service. The staff/service couldn’t have been nicer, we only had breakfast and it was very good (and very cheap). First night we had a room on first floor and to be frank it wasn’t great right over the bar that is open until 1am. We asked to be moved to a second floor room for the second night and that was done without fuss..and a much better night of sleep was had! However, the High Street is very busy in evenings and as such there is external noise from ‘high spirited’ people in drink. If you are someone who enjoys night life and goes to bed at 2am this is a great venue, if not then I would suggest somewhere away from the town centre will be more suitable. Both of our rooms were very clean and comfortable with excellent showers."

"I am perplexed about the necessity of providing our card details over the phone at this restaurant. It seems risky as they could potentially misuse that information. However, the customer service was excellent. Delivery was prompt and efficient. We ordered dinner and the cost per person ranged from £90 to £100. The food was tasty, receiving a rating of 4 out of 5. The service was top-notch, earning a perfect score of 5. The atmosphere was pleasant, earning a rating of 4. I recommend trying the Egg Fried Rice dish."
"Had a brilliant afternoon at the Poachers Pocket. Lovely roast dinner which was really good, great portion sizes, hot food and was thoroughly enjoyed. Isn’t the first time we’ve eaten here so knew it would be good We had a few drinks in the bar after and it was a great atmosphere football was on, lots of people and a really enjoyable afternoon. Thanks to all the staff for making sure we had everything we needed and for being friendly and welcoming. A little shout out to Toni (I hope I spelt that right) who was the manager I believe she welcomed us in and was obviously making sure that everything was running smoothly (which it was) , which meant everyone was happy and having a good time! So nice to have a local pub /restaurant that we can’t fault from the food to the service and how it’s run! We will be back very soon! Thank you!"

"Absolutely disgusted with the food and service I have received tonight! I ordered the Gillingham Grill Meal Special (Lamb Shish, Kofta, Doner, Salad and Chilli sauce and 2 Pitta bread). When it arrived there was hardly any salad, no doner meat, just one bit of kofta and some clumps of lamb shish. Although it came with two Pitta bread there was only enough meat to barely fill one bread. I had paid £12.99 for what was essentially a small kebab. When I phoned the shop the man on the phone told me it doesn't come with doner so I corrected him then he told me to order something tomorrow and he would give me a discount. I explained I wanted what I had ordered this evening and I wasn't going to buy a kebab tomorrow. He was totally unhelpful and said there is nothing he could do. They did not want to sent out the correct kebab or give me a refund. Totally unhelpful and unacceptable. I ordered through Just eat and although there was 20% off for being cheeky Tuesday I would have rather paid full price for a full meal instead of getting less than 50% of the food I wanted. People be aware, if there is a deal on where you pay less you probably won't get what you want. The customer service is atrocious! The photo shows the kebab before any of it was eaten. You can imagine my surprise when I opened it . I will not be ordering from them again."

"I am righting this review 9-45 pm after trying to sleep. But they are carrying out maintenance very loud banging. So have been and asked them to be quiet. The response is that the kitchen is open all day so they cant do it during the day. If this is the case then I should have been informed before paying £130 a night. Who in their right mind thinks that starting work at 9-30 pm in a hotel next to bedrooms is this best policy needs to revaluate there position."

"The Three Crutches is an amazing venue... Rob was a great host, friendly and helpful. This pub has a huge rear garden with climbing frame and grass areas for the children... (Never took pictures as children were playing on it) there are ample inside and outside tables... The inside eating areas have Plush comfy seating and even the bar stools are of high quality (photo) This pub Restaurant was refurbished to an extraordinary high standards and Rob and his team have made sure it's kept in tip top condition... The pub is spotless throughout. Very popular with many of the locals and when I saw the beautiful food leaving the kitchen I decided to have lunch... The B.L T Sandwich I had was 2nd to none.... Amazing textures and flavours complimented with the chips, 5s The Three Crutches has a very large free carpark, Serves top class food and every member of staff was courteous and eager to help. This is a fantastic example of how pubs should be run... A very clean and comfortable place to enjoy some quality family time. Well worth a visit"

"This restaurant is a pleasant place to enjoy a meal and unwind. It is situated among a row of shops with a view overlooking the parking lot. The cafe is easily identifiable by the red lettering above the large window. Upon entering, it may seem ordinary until noticing the black and white photos on the walls, particularly ones of New York. I had a satisfying full English breakfast with a variety of options, accompanied by a mug of tea. While it may have a working-class appearance, the atmosphere is welcoming and there are daily newspapers available for diners. The car park is free, and the restaurant is run by two friendly individuals. Customers order and pay before taking a seat, and there is a steady flow of patrons, especially during peak hours. The lunch menu offers a wide selection ranging from chicken curry to gammon grill, with a dedicated children's menu as well. Additionally, there are sandwiches, burgers, pies, jacket potatoes, and more, ensuring there is something for everyone. The opening hours are from 7:30 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday, and 8 am to 2 pm on Saturdays. Overall, I believe it offers good value for the money."

"Went for light lunch. Food was lovely, according to my kids a bit too much Mayo in the wraps. Waitress was very polite and looked after us. Pictures were taken after I poured my rice into my curry and kids had taken a mouthful Only downside was we weren’t greeted that nicely by the older lady, it was like she didn’t really want us to come in. Both myself and my wife said goodbye to her and got no reply. She was obviously busy but should always look to say goodbye to your customers."
